A real gem. A lovely place to stay; good rooms, good breakfast and run by lovely people. Really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

Lovely food, and pleasant staff.Rooms very tired and could do with a major freshen up, especially the bathroom. Bar area very welcoming, but restaurant area again needs some TLC.Location fabulous and would consider coming back even with the rooms as they are, as I said evening menu and breakfast extremely good.

I had a very pleasant surprise staying at the Thorverton Arms, the room was very well presented and excellent value for money, all the amenities you'd hope to find in an inn! The staff were friendly and helpful (thank you again Debbie for accomodating my late arrival) and the breakfast I enjoyed the next day was much more substantial than I expected. A really nice surprise and experience in this little country gem. Having traveled that day from London, where you got a lot less with a worse attitude but a much bigger price tag, this was a refreshing change. Thank you Thorverton Arms! I hope to see you again.

Firstly, I do not recommend young people to stay here as there is not USB outputs for your phone if you don’t have a plug.Secondly, I got treated really well at check in elderly gentleman very professional so thank you for that. But I’m a mixed race gentleman and felt as if everyone was staring at me because I was the only one in the hotel who wasn’t Caucasian. So I felt as if i wasn’t welcome by locals or the punters.Okay for 1 night stay really good value!

If your looking for a quiet little place nearby to Exeter then this is perfect for you! Such a quiet little village with lots of character. When I arrived, the staff were very friendly and helpful and allowed me to check in slightly earlier then requested which as a huge bonus for me. I stayed in room 5 which is a single room with an en suite. The room was very clean and tidy and perfect for my stay. There was an option for a full English breakfast. There is a lovely beer garden and plenty of parking at the rear of the building. All round, this is a perfect location only 15min drive from Exeter and very easy to find. You will not be disappointed staying here and will struggle to find anywhere at the same price.

Very good food and service. All our needs provided for. Live music at the other end of the bar which was enjoyed.

Elizabeth and I are sat in The Thorverton Arms having lunch. What a tremendous main course, can’t wait for dessert to come.Met by Debbie (landlady) Hazel our waitress (her first day) And Jay looking after the bar. And a lovely friendly welcome it was. The new Chef (a woman I add) produced 41 covers whilst we sat at our table without a hitch and the presentation was stunning. Our desert didn’t touch the sides. A well done to all concerned today and good luck for The future . Worth a little trip just out of town.
