Very good experience. Easy to find and plenty of parking. We pre-booked online and weren't kept waiting when we arrived, seated straight away. The carvery was delicious, only downside was the size of the Yorkshires 😂 couldn't fit much veg on with them the meat and tatters, but still very nice indeed. Sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. Waitress was very polite and pleasant through out. Would definitely go again when next in Exeter

Great tasting lunch, all you can eat with a good variety of meat and veg.Breakfast is good value.Friendly staff always make my visits enjoyable.Takeaway option is not great and outdoor seating area is a little run down but overall good experience.

You used to be able to have a little of each of the meats on offer, which if you didn't want to pile your plate up with veg, gave you a nice meal... apparently, here now you can't, which leads to the same boring roast that you could cook for yourself at home for a fraction of the ever increasing price. It's a nice enough venue, and the food is nice, but they rip you off with the drinks, some of the staff are surly and the prices have all risen....the brewer's fayre around the corner is probably a better bet, pound for pound! Not impressed!

It was very busy, every table was booked on a Saturday lunchtime until 16:00. There are some first come first served tables at the bar which can order from the same menu as the main restaurant and we were lucky enough to get one of these as a group left just as we queued at the bar, otherwise our only option would have been to sit outside when it was quite chilly. There was a queue for the carvery but this was quite orderly and there was a good range of meats (beef, lamb and turkey) along a selection of traditional and not so traditional vegetables.

Lovely roast here. Was busy when we went on Sunday but the plenty of food and was hot. We asked for a quiet tucked away table on our booking and were given one. Would return. 👍

We came in at 2:30 and could tell as we walk through the door it was basically empty. However the waitress turned and asked if we had a booking. We did not and she checked like it was really busy because she took her about a minute or two before taking us to the table and there were only 3 tables that had people in them - the rest was empty. One of the tables towards the end wanted to pay and there was no one to be seen even thought 5 minutes before 4 of them were stood chatting to each other.

We went for lunch today, the food was delicious and hot, the staff are really friendly. While we were eating, there was a couple who tried to leave without paying, when reminded in a polite manner that they hadn't paid they used a card that failed, you could tell they knew it would, they were brought back to their table but Sophie one of the staff, who was serving us as well, she responded in a very polite, respectful manner, remained calm. More than I would have been.Sophie was a credit to the company, her profession and herself. We'll done.

Can't fault the staff that were in during my visit. The guy at the door with a waistcoat on was amazing. Even though we didn't have a booking he managed to fit us in, especially as the restaurant was very busy. The waitress called Milly was amazing with my kids. She made the laugh and smile when they got a bit upset. Can't fault her one bit. Only reason it's not five stars is because the beef was very rubbery and chewy. Apart from that amazing

Came for a Sunday carvery yesterday and despite being extremely busy, the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, and they handled the volume of people exceptionally well. I was particularly impressed with the guy on the desk as you come in. Unbelievably, I overheard that it was his first time doing it as we left, you’d think he’d been doing it for years and he’s one of the friendliest people we’ve come across in ANY hospitality setting. Will certainly come back.

We are very partial to a Toby Carvery in our family and wherever we travel we head straight to the nearest Toby Restaurant we found this particular establishment in Exeter to be slightly lower par and didn't finish the meal but still tasty and good value and maybe try therestaurant another time no problem.
