Taurus Crafts and Cafe in Forest of Dean

Good at Christmas but quite disappointing at other times, not enough there. A view shared with family and friends. The garden centre is OK this time of year

Lovely cafe, with average food. While the chocolate cake was absolutely delicious, the Victoria Sponge cake was dry and really nothing to talk home about. The Mediterranean grilled sandwich lacked any flavour.I’d probably skip the cafe and explore the ma y artist’s shops.

Lovely cafe, plant nursery and gift shop. Unfortunately quite a lot of the craft workshops were closed. Wished this had been mentioned on the website as we'd travelled along way. Maybe because it was a Monday?

What a wonderful Valentines at Taurus ❤️We were made to feel very special the moment we entered. A photograph of us together started the evening against a romantic setting, a freshly presented rose and a beautifully decorated table made the start of the evening very memorable. Then came the food and an excellent choice of red wine. I have to say the food was exceptional! Three courses that showed the skills of an excellent chef behind the scenes, especially as Taurus cater normally for cafe food. A definite opportunity here for Taurus for more evening catering. I attach a picture of my personal pudding choice; a chocolate baileys bomb! so tasty and smooth. To finish the meal came the lovely handmade heart biscuits covered in chocolate. All these addition touches, the attention to detail across the whole event, and, the remarkable food, made this, an evening my partner & I won’t forget. Thank you everyone

Lovely place to wander and look at crafts. Craft shops, chocolate shop and Lovely cafe with tasty food. A lovely calm environment. We will be back.

They were holding a Christmas market when we visited. Some lovely local sellers but not as many stalls and as much variety as we would have liked. The permanent shops seemed quite limited. Probably best for a short stop in.

Usually only visit over the weekends before Christmas. 3 weekends of crafts and music. Free parking available and a revamped car park made parking easier. Marquees erected in grounds for the craft stall holders alongside the resident crafter's that are there 365 days of the year. Wide selection from jewellery, pottery, baked goods, paintings to Christmas goodies and alcohic drinks. On top of this is the covered garden centre which is quite large and has a great choice of plants. As expected fresh Christmas trees for sale at start of craft area. If you can bear waiting until final weekend and, especially the Sunday, trees are down in price. There is one cafe on site so it can get busy. Never leave without making a purchase!

We stopped at The Taurus crafts centre on our way home from a weekend in Bream. So pleased to find many shops selling crafts and arts. Lovely plants and cafe.. well worth a visit.

If you like nooks and crannies style ahopping with a large under cover garden centre thrown in then this is the place for you. There's a couple of cafe options and room for kids to run about, although some crafty shops are small there's plenty to look at...however if shopping isn't your thing there not alot else going for this place other than decorative fixtures and fittings and the odd bit of sculpture.
