From the time I booked a lunchtime table for two, plus we had to leave by a certain time, Phil and the staff were welcoming and very accommodating. The food was amazing, service brilliant, cannot recommend enough. Inside or out in the lovely garden was a great experience. Thank you Phil and your team.

We visited this pub for dinner as we were staying at an Airbnb nearby. We didn't know the area and didn't have anywhere booked up for dinner. They pub were fully booked when we arrived and couldn't fit us in. A minute later the barman (maybe owner too?) put together a table for us and made us feel quite welcomed. We really appreciated being given a table as we'd be traveling all day. The pies were delicious and can see why they have a reputation. The service was great, all three members of staff we interacted with were genuinely friendly and very attentive to us despite the pub being busy. We really enojyed our meal and would consider this our favourite meal of the holiday.Thank you very much for your welcoming service, it didn't go amiss for us.

We have just had a 2 night stay at The Farmer's Boy Inn with our dog and had lovely walks in the Forest of Dean. Thoroughly recommend this pub. The whole experience has been first class, from the initial booking and communication with Phil to the very warm welcome by all the staff we met who were all so lovely. Of huge importance to us was how they all treated our dog, ensuring she had water and treats if she wanted them and lots of fuss. Of course we tried the pies, they really are amazing! But we also had other meals on the menu and breakfasts. All were absolutely top class. We expect to wait for a meal that is such good quality but we certainly didn't feel the wait was excessive. All in all a lovely relaxing break! Thank you! Thoroughly recommend!

Visited for lunch, we didn't have a reservation but they kindly let us have a table regardless, and it wasn't very busy. Looking at the menu there were lots of options, including vegan and gluten free. The food took quite a long time to arrive, despite not being too busy, but the service was friendly. I had the mushroom risotto which was nice, but quite expensive for what it was. I tried a bite of the pie and it was delicious, so you can see why they have so many awards! Overall, I'd recommend it for a place to eat, as long as you're not on a budget.

I love this place. I can not tell you how much I love this place. I live in Gloucester so can be a pain to get to but is definitely worth it. The staff are amazing and welcoming and just so kind. The food is amazing. Always leave with no complaints and feeling so full. Also the decor is so beautiful inside. Stunning. I wish I could give this place more then 5 starts to be honest. Lovely place and will always recommend this place to anyone. The food is brilliant... the staff are amazing and there's nothing I can say bad about this place.

I might be biased because of my love for pie, but this place seriously impressed me.The staff are super friendly, checking in if we needed drinks, but without being pushy or annoying. The garden features a playground for kids aged 3 to 10 which was safe and fun for the kids. The food is incredible, although it took a while to arrive, it was clearly freshly made, which makes it worth any wait. This was my first time here, but certainly won't be my last.

Wonderful little pub and hotel - rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Food in the connecting pub was delicious (especially the award winning pies!). Phil, the manager, was an absolute gem and made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be staying here again!

Absolutely loved this place! From the moment we walked in we were welcomed with really polite and friendly staff. The establishment is wonderfully cosy and a lovely place to relax. The menu is the best I've seen in a pub, really varied and different.I ordered the steak, stout and mushroom pie and it was absolutely delicious. The whole menu looked amazing and we can't wait to come back and enjoy more!

The food is always amazing - the roasts are particularly good. Lovely staff that are so accommodating and really nice decor and comfy chairs! We drive 40 minutes to come here as it by far beats all of our local pubs!
