Great 5 star service from the waiter who got tipped for being very helpful and accommodating.Had the roast which was delicious, huge portions even took some home for a second dinner.Highly recommend

Ian and team have managed to deliver what I and my wife were looking for during our visit to this charming pub!We were on a short getaway from London for a chilled couple of days in the countryside. Due to the weather, we decided it might be best to find a nice for a bite to eat. The first pub we went to - although really nice - they didn’t do food and they recommended we try out The Miners Arms! Of course when a pub recommends another pub for its food, that’s saying something, doesn’t it?Ian and his wife have a lovely behind this pub and we really enjoyed our experience there. The food was spot on - only tiny, tiny issue was that we wanted to have Val’s Apple Pie (a must try!), with custard and cream, but the team by mistake brought it with ice cream and cream…and charged extra for it…but apart from this small issue everything else was just superb!I had Lamb Shanks (the most succulent lamb shank I have had in a long time!) and my wife had Chicken Burger which was good.Highly recommended pub! 👍🏽👍🏽

Came to the miners Arms with the people I support from work. The staff were so incredibly organised with our big table of 14 and accommodated to our needs brilliantly. All staff were incredibly polite and put together and make things so simple and straight forward. The food was delicious and well presented. Absolutely brilliant with every aspect. Will 100% be returning!!! All of the people I support thoroughly enjoyed themselves 😊 thank you very much Ian and all of the staff

Had a lovely meal whilst on holiday, enjoyed it so much went back a couple of days later.Staff were very attentive and let us amend the menu slightly for our fussy eating children. We look a small dog and we’re made to feel very welcome.Would definitely recommend for food or a drink

Firsly we could only get a booking for 6.30 as was told fully booked, but we were the only ones in the restaurant area and we were in there for about an hour with no signs of any other customers. The starter was lovely, but the main was absolutely awful. Not much choice on the menu all very much meat and potato dishes. We both ended up having the lamb shank and it was incredibly fatty, smelt like cat food, extremely thin gravy, lumpy mash and undercooked veg. Expressed this and was told an amount will be taken off the bill, but this never happened.Lastly unsure why they had the fire going when it already was a warm evening, so we just wanted to get out of there. It was far too hot and extremely awkward being just us shoved in the corner of the restaurant area.

Wonderful place. Had a very pleasant meal. Staff were smiley, attentive and genuinely keen that we were well served and happy. Food and drinks came quickly and were really good. Veggie option tried (nut roast) perfect. Choice of beer fine and house chardonnay excellent. 10 out 10. Thank you.

Went yesterday with my family, ordered vals homemade steak pie and chips. Informed they only had fries. The meal turned up and looked disappointing with a bizarre piece of parsley stuck in the top. The pie felt cold to the touch and discovered it was in fact stone cold in the middle. When returned it was a mangled mess of a pie, not impressed. The staff are very friendly and attentive but that doesn't mean much if the food isn't up to scratch.

Nice pub that caters for locals and visitors to the beautiful forest. Super beer garden with chickens. Nice beer and decent food. Give it a try. The steam railway is just 2 mins walk away.
