Lovely place, the food was exceptional - all sourced locally - and the staff couldn't do enough for us. There was a fridge with milk and various juices which you can help yourself to (please don't abuse it!). We would come back again and again! Thanks for a lovely stay.

We've eaten here many times when staying in the area and it has always been amazing. The Sunday Roasts are legendary in our family being both delicious and massive!

SUNDAY LUNCHFirst time in the pub for me my wife and two grown up children. We were met as we came in and shown to our table. The first contact was very nice and friendly. We ordered drinks and then food. the Sunday roasts were delivered to our table. I had never had a Sunday lunch when you cut your own meat at the table. The quality of the meat was fantastic-we had pork and beef. There was plenty for 4 hungry adults. There are a lot of choice for meals at this time. We even asked for extra roast potatoes. Desert was very nice as well. The friendliness of the staff made the meal. There was a buzz in the pub, not a lot of noise but people chatting and having a good time. I thoroughly recommend this pub. You will not be disappointed.

Best Sunday roast for miles around. Served as a platter for you to carve at your table....Just like being at home! Good range of drinks and puds too. Don't go anywhere else!

A MUST for anyone visiting the Forest of Dean. Food is out of the this world. Visited here numerous times and always have a fabulous meal, standards are consistently high. Staff are friendly and helpful. Dog friendly in the bar area

A truly incredible Sunday roast experience. The food was delicious (and epic!) and the staff were awesome - enough so that they happily post back a baby changer mat to Bristol that I’d mistakenly left. Definitely one to organise a day out around.

Visited on Monday evening. Everything on the menu was half price! An excellent choice of menu, food cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. All served by friendly smiling waiting staff, what more could you ask for.

A friend and I had a late Sunday lunch yesterday. Your meat is served on a large board and you carve it yourself. We chose the beef and a generous lump arrived. Very tasty and tender. Red cabbage and white cabbage/carrots were delicious. Sadly the Yorkshire pudding was very overcooked as were my roast potatoes which was disappointing but the presentation was different and the meat great so I did enjoy my meal. We shared cheese and biscuits as it was a very generous portion. Nice family atmosphere too. Most enjoyable afternoon.

Staff really friendly, great table service, food is absolutely tasty and well presented. We stayed on 2 occasions and we doubt we could have found a nicer place to stay/eat. Many thanks xx
