the village inn in Forest of Dean

Turned up after lunch time (3.30pm) but were happy to serve us food. Amazing Sunday lunch - pork & beef - tastiest around here. - great staff polite and friendly nothing too much trouble. even gave us bacon for the dogs! Desserts were so tasty and very nicely presented. Can’t recommend enough. Great value for money.

Disappointed with their fish and chips ,went for lunch with friends and wouldn't go back, their sweet was nice and all of us enjoyed that ,but we would have paid more for a decent piece of fish and home made chips .The waitress was very nice and helpful,and maybe other meals on their menu are good but we're not going back

As we’re staying in Sedbury we spotted The Village Inn and thought that would be ideal for our 1st night here. We weren’t disappointed. Firstly, our dog was very welcomed inside. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. We went for 3 courses and again very pleased with the food and the service. The special burger was brilliant and reasonably priced. My favourite bit was the dessert, my Eton Mess was delicious. We highly recommend coming here. Thank you, we may very well be back.

I've been going to the village inn for a few years now, and the atmosphere, staff and management have always been friendly and welcoming. The food has improved a lot in the past year, not saying that it's been poor before, but it's very good now. We have Sunday lunch there and they have a wide selection of meats, and the size is more than enough. The most important thing is that it's cooked hot, and it's very well prepared and very nice! I have even brought friends over to try it out and they agree.
