What a gorgeous country pub and restaurant. Interior design is so stylish whilst retaining exposed stonework, with lots of wood, glass and leather in the stunning extentions. Staff could not have been more welcoming or friendly as we arrived from the cycleway with our bicycles and collapsed into the beer garden.

Absolutely fantastic pub!Myself and my daughter stopped here on the off chance after a walk nearby - what a find!Set in the picturesque village of Parkend the whole pub has been beautifully refurbished recently to the highest standards. It includes plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a lovely beer garden which is dog friendly. There is a nice selection of beers and ciders (I recommend the Symonds cider) on offer and a good quality menu. As it was a Sunday we both had a roast dinner (I had beef and my daughter had chicken) I've got to say it was one of the best quality roasts I've had anywhere - the beef was cooked to perfection and the veg was beautiful (make sure you have the cauliflower cheese!) no skimping on the roast potatoes either.Another thing to mention is how polite and helpful the staff are.I will definitely be coming here again and it is the sort of place I'd take friends or family - can't wait to go back!

Sadly I visited on Saturday with my sister, thought I'd give it another go as a few weeks ago we had an appalling Sunday Lunch. We decided to get the menus from the bar staff and sit outside. We were told someone would come and take our order. We sat and waited patiently, several times servers walked past delivering food to others. Menus were clearly in front of us. After about 30 minutes we decided to go place our orders at the bar. We were informed rudely by the woman in charge that the kitchen was now closed and not open until 5pm. The lady who had served us originally admitted she had forgotten to come and get our order- Fair enough. But what I can't excuse is the complete rudeness of the woman in charge. I won't be giving this place a third chance!

Lovely pub with a great summer house. Sunday lunch was fantastic, one of the best roasts I’ve had but desserts were disappointing, lemon meringue pie was under cooked and not nearly zesty enough.Good selection of local cask beers but let down by wine selection. Only wine available by the glass is Jack Rabbit, not really fitting for the location and quality of food served

Stopped by the the restaurant at Woodman Inn. Good food, prompt service, good presentation and portion sizes. All of the food was pretty tasty, the mushroom stroganoff could do a fewer gherkins and I’d skip the cheesecake. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious.

Visited with my wife and little boy, arrived just as the football was finishing and people were leaving, which was good as it would likely have been too loud otherwise. We sat outside in the lovely covered terrace, which was very nice. I had the dramatically named Game Changer, but it really wasn't game changing and my wife had a pizza which was very average. The little one had a child's pizza which thankfully came with chips, he's 7 and because of the wait before food was served he demolished everything and was still hungry. However, because of the price of everything and the slow service we decided to sack off dessert and head back to camp. Overall it felt fairly expensive for average food and slow service. There are other places to go nearby so I doubt we'll go back if we happen to be in the area again.

Great roast, obviously very popular with the locals which is a good sign. Roast beef and turkey were lovely, service was prompt and efficient. Glad we came, would recommend.

Incredibly disappointing, it went from bad to worse. I honestly feel for FOH staff. It started to go wrong when we wanted to order food to be told only serving Sunday menu. That's fine, however one of our party was gluten and dairy intolerant. With nothing suitable on the Sunday menu, we had to order the mushroom stroganoff that was advertised as plant based, to then be told it had been made with cream. Very worrying, throughout this tooing and frowing from the kitchen, the staff FOH or BOH didn't seem to understand allergies, nor the menu items and what they contained. There alwas also no vegeterian roast availabe but this was subsituted for a nut roast, unfortunately the staff weren't sure what allergies it contained also. Next we were told no sides of cauliflower cheese available for us 30 minutes after our order went in. When the food arrived (an hour and 20 minutes after we seated) it came cold. Roast pork dinners were cold, fatty, sausages were undercooked, potatoes were undercooked along with the green veggies. No red cabbage or stuffing as advertised, the Yorkshire pudding was 1/4 of a shop bout one and the gravy was cold and watery. Kids meals, the chips were covered in salt. The nut roast was sloppy and cold. Incredibly unappealing. We complained and in fairness the waitress removed the food from the bill, we didn't eat 80% of it. Such a shame they didn't have the capability to win us back over nor the manager touch the table and take ownership of the issues. I understand incredible challenges with staffing at present in the hospitality industry, however tailer the menu and bookings to your capabilites.

Just had a 25th birthday meal for 10 of us and it was absolutely brilliant. Food came out within 15 minutes of ordering, was hot and most importantly tasty! We had two waitresses serving us which made things extremely efficient and meant we all ate together. It’s lovely to have a choice of good places to eat in such a small village. Would highly recommend.

Only popped in for a quick drink. Place was clean and nicely decorated. My only complaint was when I used the hand sanitiser, it sprayed everywhere narrowly missing my eye, went all over my clothes and hit my Mother who was stood behind me. When I informed a member of staff she just made a joke and said it had happened to someone else too. No apology. No, I'll remove it. Nothing!
