White Hart Inn in Forest of Dean

We had a private function here a week ago for our end of season football do and the food was amazing! We organised a set menu but the owners went above and beyond and allowed us to order from there normal menu as well to make everyone happy, the pub is in amazing condition and everyone was made to feel welcome.

Scruffy exterior with no obvious way in which just about sums up the hospitality of the place. I was 'greeted' - if one can call it that - by a large man in shorts, saying: "Can I help?" in that tone of voice suggestive of "What do you want!" I could only think: never to see you or this place again...

Spent the weekend 11th to 14th March . Lovely room , excellent food , awesome hosts, really lovely and friendly . A stones throw from the Forest of Dean , really helpfulinfo from about walks and places to visit. Would definitely return, hopefully in the not to distant future.

Lovely pub. Great function room. Play area for children and lots of parking.

Good for food and lovely staff.Not so great for staying there. Big rooms but let down by the stuff left behind by previous guests including an empty pizza box. In addition a vibrating floor due to being directly above the laundry room, dirty bath and the TV having only 2 prongs and an aerial lead that trailed from one room to the next and not even plugged in. To be fair, the lady working promptly got us a new TV and was apologetic.

Popped in one Saturday early evening in September on the way home from a dog walk in the forest. They were so welcoming and accommodating, giving us a nice table outside with plenty of space to put our baby seat. The food was excellent and the landlady was so nice, she kept checking we were okay and made sure we had everything we needed. Even though this was an off chance drop in it was such a nice place, when we’re up this way again we’ll definitely plan to come back here and have dinner again. Thank you

Excellent ! Great location for Forest of Dean & Wye Valley. Superb full English Breakfast (there 3 nights). Very good evening food too. Best shower I've ever had - could do full Bob Hoskins in The Long Good Friday; huge bath; rinky-dinky lighting & excellent fan. Yes, folks, even the fan was good. Friendly, accommodating, cheap, relaxing. I loved this place. Great area too

Great family run pub with B&B and evening meals. Great value for money, brilliant staff with lots of local knowledge for walks. It's situated within distance of so many great walks. A genuine community pub with friendly chatty locals and its dog friendly.

We chose the White Hart Inn because they were Dog friendly and had good reviews. We really enjoyed our short stay, the room was really nice with a separate room for the kids. Everyone was really friendly and couldn't do more for us. Food and drink was very reasonably priced. And one of best Full English Breakfasts we've ever had. We will definitely stay again!

All bad reviews must have been before the new owners and renovations. Just stayed a weekend here with my partner and here's what we though:-owners are amazing, kind, welcoming people who instantly felt like friends taking care of us every moment we stayed. They always went the extra mile to ensure we had a lovely weekend.-food was out of this world, the burgers are on another level. It was all freshly cooked and hot. I don't think I've ever had a burger so good, we found out it's all locally sourced beef from a local farmer/butcher.- room was clean and very modern with a comfy bed and great shower, and even after 2 nights the room still smelt like flowers.-breakfast was perfect, Twiz makes everything to order and made whatever we wanted from full English to just some toast.- Could hardly hear the bar at night from the room, had no issues sleeping even when we knew the bar was noisy.- on arrival we saw some customers arguing in the bar, this was bad timing but the situation was diffused in seconds by the owner and handled very well, to Apologize she left a little gift in our room for us which was unnecessary but so lovely and just sums up the attitude and personality of the owners.100% would recommend the White Hart Inn to absolutely anyone!
