Dr Foster's Waterfront Bar and Restaurant in Gloucester

Went here for a birthday meal and food in the afternoon. Bar area was very cold, did ask if the heating was on!!! Drinks not bad price and nice coffee. Food looked nice , tasted nice and four meals came out together. But was warm and not hot. Perhaps the low temperature in the pub was too blame. If weather wasn't so bad would have moved on to a pub with a fire.

Great food, mostly fresh. Busy place, but we are not waiting long time. I can recommend and next time we will be back. Just one small dissatisfaction was, that rare steak was medium, but still tasty. Great place!

Had a lovely time for my sisters engagement party yesterday, unfortunately some men were inappropriately touching me and a few other women there. Would just like to say how wonderfully the staff and the manager dealt with it, really professional and really discreet, not all places deal with situations like this how they did, it was very reassuring thank you so much. Apart from that, we all had a wonderful evening. The staff are great and the place is wonderfully designed and decorated. My sister and her fiancé certainly couldn’t have chosen a better place for their engagement celebration. Amazing night!!!

Went to celebrate my 21st birthday with family. They catered to all ages, and were more than happy for us to bring our own cake and decorate the table. A lovely visit, and the food was really nice and filling too!

Returning customer Nov 19: A nice family run bar, food was very hit and miss, facilities exceptional poor. Lovely starters but X2 out of 3 mains were inedible, not offered a refund or meal exchange only drinks or pudding (nothing equivalent to the meals cost). Men’s toilets were exceptional filthy as well as urine filled urinals. Strongly consider your Christmas party bookings before handing over deposit etc.

It was a lovely place to visit food was OK my nachos seemed to be over heated which some what made them hard to eat. Otherwise the service was brilliant we had a rather large group the night we visited. So was forgiven with over cooked food. Bar was pleasant too. I would recommend anyone to visit.

Had a nice brunch at the bar yesterday. The bar has a big conservatory which is by the dock, nice view and wonderful atmosphere. We ordered some jacket potatoes with some chunky chips. Price is reasonable and jacket potatoes are surprisingly good with nice presentation and salad is fresh. Chunky chips is £2.50 which is nicely fried and portion is reasonable. Staff are generally quite friendly. It’s a nice and slightly further from the Quays but that also means you are away from the crowd.

Food and drinks were fine, but service was not. Dirty plates and cups everywhere, sticky table. Too bad, the interior is nice and atmospheric.

Great location and views from the enclosed patio area. Food very nice although steak bloomer would have been better as a steak baguette. Staff friendly and decent prices.

Popped in this evening, had an excellent meal. Portions were great, food was delicious and two lovely women behind the bar were brilliant. Absolutely lovely venue, I recommend a pint of their Orchard Pig Dark Cider the moon and a pork burger overlooking the dock… lovely! Not local but I will be back!
