High Orchard in Gloucester

On Sunday evening the atmosphere was very pleasant and enjoyable. Arrival was smooth enough, met at entrance and sat to our table promptly. Ample car parking. Staff were in the main very helpful and friendly. Easy enough to order food either at bar or from table via a QR Code and app. Had the carvery, good choice of meats 🍖 👌 and ample choice of self help vegetables. All in all very good and quite tasty. Would come back again.

Just want to thank Megan (front of house) and Rachael (behind the bar), who were so friendly and helpful. Their efforts turned a nice meal into a really nice experience. Thanks too to the kitchen staff. The food was perfectly cooked and arrived really quickly.

24/02/22Best experience ever!Made my sister’s 13th birthday really special, everyone went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us, there were a lot of us as we booked a big table and even though it was really busy anyway, nothing was too much trouble. Very happy :)

We've been visiting The High Orchard since it opened.It just gets better and better.The Sunday carvery I had today was the best ever. Colleen and her team in the kitchen really are wizards. All the vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the broccoli wellington I ordered was absolutely gorgeous in texture and flavour.Worth acknowledging the friendly efficiency of the serving staff too.Great stuff all round. Many thanks.

Wow! What a place, me and my husband are super impressed. We had two mega mixed grills and a couple of pints of coke for less than £30! Shaun was great with us and came over and checked we were okay. All the staff were lovely and friendly. Be aware though it did get busy about 2pm, as there was a football game on over the road. So if you want somewhere quiet to go probably not the best place if Gloucester City are playing at home.

Excellent service from Megan and Michelle, pleasant conversation with them. Meal was very good, particularly appreciated that they put us at a quiet table (as requested) as being hard of hearing means external noise can mean I cannot hear conversation. Thank you an enjoyable experience.

Overpriced for frozen ready meals.Booked table of 6 for dinner. We opted for the main menu as we didn’t fancy the Xmas one.To start with :1) rude bar staff who when you request something to be well done would tat on you2) starters were all fried in old oil3) mains - chef couldn’t follow simple instructions of well done/med rare etc so one meal had to be redone. Let’s just say that chef decided to make a steak from med rare to well done by chucking it in a deep friar…. The rest of the meats on mixed grill were tough - not possible to cut/chew the burger or the pork. Sausages cheap and mushy. On another meal onion rings were meant to be part of it but either chef forgotten or staff ate it, wasn’t there. No one was bothered to check if the food was ok and ti had it recooked we had to hunt the staff down.Also all the chips were really dry and not nice as probably hot held for quite a while.All in all we won’t be bothered to come back as even Weatherspoons microwave chef wouldProbably do a better job

We had a lovely family meal (apart from the glass of red wine tasted off, but was kindly exchanged for another drink and the beef from the carvery was a bit tough). Michelle the waitress was very kind, helpful and was a lovely lady to have serve us today.The only main issue was poor communication from another waitress to Michelle meaning we didn't get our extra drinks that were ordered until we asked someone again over 20 mins later (nothing to do with Michelle though, she apologized on behalf of the other waitress when she bought them over).Overall, a lovely family get together in a nice atmosphere.

Food was Great. Staff Very friendly. The Carvery was amazing. Would 100% recommend
