Just wow. Best fish and chips I've had in a while! Will come back again!

Had to write this as I was not happy with my meal. Over priced boxed fish and chips. The cod was flat as a pancake and this was disguise by the batter that made it look fatter. The chips was OK a bit to much for the small size of the fish. I also had curry sauce which was not the standard chip shop curry I was expecting. This sauce was so thick, tipped upside down the sauce did not move I had to use a spoon to scoop it out and so much currants. Horrible.c

I called into this shop at 15.30pm on a friday, what a disappointment ๐ the chips were disgusting either they were from the day before reheated or lunchtime reheated, luke warm overcooked & hard with a horrible after taste, the jumbo sausage was also cremated & really not nice ๐คข the curry sauce was a joke didn't even smell or taste of curry, also bits of carrot floating about in it,seriously carrot in curry sauce, I will never be going back ๐คฎ.

Couple weeks ago i was here eating me usual chips, i pulled a chip up to my slime covered lips just to spot a ginger hair! my mind was immediately filled with thoughts of hucclecote nitty Jack Blackmore (or Jack Blackie as he likes to be known). safe to say my meal was ruined. Ruddy's is mid.

My local chip shop, Food tastes amazing and always cooked to a good standard. Decent portions never had any issues. Price isn't bad if you consider the quality of food your getting. Would recommend.

Once again I have been reminded why I said I would not use this shop again. The cod was ok, the chips were ok but the haddock had been fried to death. I dread to think how miniscule the fish portions are if not the Jumbo sized portions because they were small enough to rival the standard size from other shops. This shop used to be so very good. What has gone wrong?

Best fish and chips in Gloucester. Also the cleanest and most professionally run shop in the shire. I can't recommend this place enough. The gluten free fish is my favourite fish, gluten free or otherwise, in the shire. I wish they had a dine-in option with an expanded menu. They can do no wrong.

Its a bit pricey compared to others but the quality of fish and chips is by far the best in Gloucester. Other fish and chips shop serve you a thin fillet of cod in thick batter whereas Ruddys serve fresh chunky fish and golden crispy batter. Chips taste really good too. They clearly use good quality potatoes. Some say Ye olde fish and chips is the best since its the oldest in Gloucester. I have tried both and in my opinion Ruddys is the best .5 ๐ for Food quality, taste and cleanliness.5 ๐ for customer service.5 ๐ for opening hours.

What's not to love about Ruddys?! Friendly chatty staff and great food. It's always busy and can take a while sometimes, but the fish is cooked to order so definitely worth the wait. I love that you get lemon with the fish and the curry sauce has a better taste than most bland sauces.Prices are average and you get plenty for your money.I've never had a bad experience here and will continue to enjoy visit for a catch up and great fresh food.

Was very disappointed, lots of people say how good it is so thought we would try it out, asked for a large portion of chips, there was nothing large about this compared to other chippy's in the area, the large chips came in a smaller box than the sausages did? sausages seemed over cooked as well looked like they had been there for quite a while? service was ok and everything social distancing so happy about that, just disappointed on the portion size for the price.
