The Black & White Restaurant & Take Away in Gloucester

Lovely fish and chips, but really not set up to manage as a restaurant at the moment. Too few staff to handle taking orders and delivering to table alongside takeaway orders.

I thought let me try this one instead. My delivery driver got a bit confused with the building but that was not the problem. The fish batter was soggie batter and the chips were dry and hard. The only thing that was hot was the curry sauce. The curry sauce didn't taste ery nice either. I was looking for some good old fish and chip, oh boy was I disappointed 😞

Best fish and chips ever , batter very light and crispy cooked to perfection , very friendly

Ordered fish from here came with batter burnt and it was also the same size as a cod bite a mobile phone was bigger disgusting for what they charge

Just ordered meals delivered by Just eat with no problems the quality of the food was very poor.chips were not fresh .awful.

Did not intend on fish and chips, but all the restaurants were full, however, I'm glad this was the case as it's the best chippy I've had in a long time, if I find myself this way again I'll be coming back

Beautiful piece of fish and lovely chips as well. Freshly cooked so nice and hot. Best piece of actual cod (not haddock pretending to be cod) i have had in a long time. Would definitely recommend and go back.

Amazing fish n chips.We were visiting for the weekend with our re-enactment hobby and needed to be fed... We came across this amazing chip shop and was wowed by the age of the building...Mr 6ft tall husband hit his head on entering through the low door... DISPITE the very obvious signs 😁. My son and I had a look around this lovely building, venturing upstairs to where the restaurant is... Wonderful decor with plenty of seating in a wonderful old building.The chefs and other workers were very eager and willing to help... And made us very welcome, even to the point of telling my husband the way to a local pub that our friends were staying in..And the food....? Beautifully cooked, thr chips were crisp, as was the batter on the fish and not oily at all.. My Sausages were very tasty also..When in the area again, I shall seek them out for another delicious meal (and fun interaction).

Really good food here, abit rustic and basic, but it's a chip shop! Has a old English feel to it in a city centre, you could mistake yourself for being in a village chippy!Staff here are really nice and welcoming, great to see a local chippy staying true to its values and keeping things simple.

The Black & White is a small establishment with a takeaway downstairs and seating upstairs. The food we had was amazing with very large portions. The staff were friendly and the only waitress there worked tirelessly to ensure everyone was happy. A small restaurant with its own huge character.
