You will not find a better eatery in the whole of Gloucestershire. Lovely warm, friendly, welcoming environment. Fantastic choice of food and drinks. Literally on the doorstep to the beautiful Gloucester Cathedral. I highly recommend the Amazing Comfy Pew!!

I visited the Comfy Pew on the 23rd Dec, with family, having read the reviews I was looking forward to the experience. However a sausage bap was one of our order's very dissaponted that £4.75, a sausage had been sliced into 4pieces, a toasted teacake came ready buttered, the butter was of a spread, onto a cold tecacke, butter portions rather than spread would of been better. I tried to get attention, but the lady was on her phone, despite me asking 3 times for attention. Then saw her outside on the phone. Eventually a lady from the kitchen gave me her attention, I was unable to give feedback as the lady didn't come back into the café. Not happy.

Really excellent. Served by a young girl who was so professional and competent. Drinks and food really good value for money. Setting lovely

·

Lovely service and food quite good and presented nicely. But easily the worst and weakest coffee for a café in such a prestigious position near Gloucestrer Cathedral.

The Comfy Pew is in a lovely location. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and were met by friendly and professional staff. The home made soup was delicious and the Victoria sponge was light, fluffy and yummy. Would definitely recommend

When I was in residence as organist at Gloucester cathedral for a week two summer’s ago, we decided we should give this place a try somewhat later in our stay. I wondered if the pews came from the cathedral whenever they swapped them for chairs. I’m sorry to say we didn’t try this place sooner, as everything was beautifully done and well seasoned (which is not what I can say for the main pub in town that shall remain nameless, but perhaps they’ve since discovered salt). The lunch is still memorable to this day and the meat and mushroom pie was wonderful. The service was good and it was neat dining on a pew.

My wife and i had really nice lunch, toasted bacon and brie with cranberry, and smoked salmon with cream cheese all served with a generous side salad. Reasonably priced and great spot outside the cathedral. Pleasant staff quick service. Excellent .

We were in a bit of a hurry, which was our fault, not theirs, but the 20+ minute wait for two dishes when there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant put us on edge a little. The burger was pleasant enough, with an average patty. The generous chunk of blue cheese elevated it somewhat, and this was very welcome. The vegan breakfast was rather tired and lacking, and the eggs were overcooked with no runny middle.
