Lovely meal here. Whenever I'm in town I always eat at the fountain Inn.Bar does get very busy and it's down to people sitting on bar stools. If I ran any pub one thing I'd get rid of is the stools as it stops a lot of people getting served.Meals are always lovely and are a reasonable price. Went back in March 2022. Second photo of yet another lovely meal. Steak & Ale pie. Beautiful and a really nice portion. Well done to all the friendly staff.

Made a visit to The Fountain yesterday and just loved every minute of our time there. We hadn't booked a table but the staff were so welcoming and found us a table, service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Definitely going back for repeat visits, this small historic pub is a hidden gem.

Lovely pub. Food amazing. Portions huge. Great atmosphere and enjoyed time there.

The bar staff were chirpy and lovely, the food was really delicious. It's a cosy little pub hidden in Gloucester. The courtyard is cute at night with the lights on. A bit of construction going on at the moment outside but it doesn't effect the atmosphere or the staff's attitude of good service!

After visiting the cathedral we were looking for food and stumbled across the Fountain Inn. Walked in to see a very pleasant and cosy bar area with a roaring fire. The pub was busy with diners and drinkers which was a good sign. We were promptly seated and given menus from the lovely staff. Choice was excellent and certainly value for money when compared to eating out in Birmingham the previous day. Vegetarians have a choice which is always a bonus, I’d recommend the Halloumi burger ! We all polished off our meals and passed a compliments to the staff. I’d certainly return when next in Gloucester. This is a proper English pub where dogs are welcome.

A really old inn so cosy and nice decor and seating. And a gorgeous outside courtyard. What a nice place. Very pleasant staff. We had food and drinks. Food was spot on delicious and drinks a good pint. Prices are very fair too. This is how you make a proper tasty sandwich We thoroughly recommend this place.

What a great historical building and pub, apparently dating back to the 1600's or so, wow.Decided to go here for some "true cask ale" and it delivered as their ales were stunning. Thanks to the Gloucester Lock keeper who recommended it as he was a real ale drinker too and had been here before..👍.The staff were friendly, welcoming, cheerful and attentive even though they were extremely busy. We ordered two portion of chunky chips to go with our ales and these arrived within 10 minutes or so, wow. They were piping hot, creamy and soft on the inside yet crispy on the outside. We really enjoyed our drinks and chips and definitely reccomend The Fountain Inn and a "must visit" is worth it.Such an amazing historical building inside and out. Thanks to all the great staff for making our visit a memorable afternoon

Never had orange in Diet Coke before but was that ever a discovery. The gin drinks were lovely. The food was fine but woefully underseasoned. The execution of the foods was fine as you’ll see by my photos, but they all needed more seasoning during the cooking process. That’s a grievous error on the part of the cook. Fix that and you’d have earned five stars. Maybe you have since my visit (it was now two years ago I was there).
