The Haywain in Gloucester

We often eat here at the haywaine. We were especially pleased with the service today. Very pleasant staff and very accommodating.I’ve only given 4 stars coz the price has gone up and the price is going up everywhere but my wages and it’s annoying lol but really the staff here are wonderful.The food was good and the deserts were ok. The fudge cake was a little dry from being in the microwave. It would be nice to not be able to tell it’s been in the microwave. No other complaints about the food or drink at all.Thanks guys, see you soon.

We had a meal here and it wasn't too expense but the food was poor a lot of things you would expect was missing or not available. The wife's steak which should have been medium rare was burnt and had to get sent back and 're cooked. I think our friends would agree it could have been a lot better. On the plus side staff were polite. I think that we would not return anytime soon other places offer food deals and a better service for the same price or less. So I would say they just need to up their games if they want to keep customers happy

Great service and atmosphere! The food was also lovely and portions were just right! Made a mistake on ordering but the staff were so helpful and sorted instantly. Also great turn around from the kitchen! May not be seen but certainly make an impression! Would 100% recommend and come again! (Have done many times in the past!)

We are from London and moved a week ago, this is already our local. What amazing Staff. Welcoming us like loyalty, Tania and all the Staff. Though very busy, checking we were OK and remembering our names. Definitely have a lot of family, friends and work clients I will introduce to this establishment.

Had a lovely meal on Sunday. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. All the staff were friendly and happy to assist when we asked for help. Will come again for food more often.

Whether we go in for a good few drinks or go for a bite to eat, we've never been disappointed! Great outdoor area for the summertime, warm and cosy inside in the wintertime. Good food menu choices, friendly staff, pool, darts and sometimes music too!

Brilliant food and staff were great. Always ready to help and offer assistance. Food is good and great value for money. Great pub to visit.

Wanted to go for a nice steak. Was told on ordering there was no steak. Then another member of staff said as our food was delivered that a delivery came in that morning, there should be steak.Chips was ice cold and burgers seemed like they were deep fried and the grilled as the patties were dry and horrible. Didn't complain in restaurant as no one came to ask how the meal went. And staff was busy as we left. Just won't go back again

After not going for many years, a large group of us came here last night for a birthday meal. Lots of different meals, which were all fab. It was the best meal I've had in a long time, all the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Dale came over to have a chat with us all which was lovely. I would 100% recommend and we will be back very soon. Thank you all.

I visited this lovely pub last night for a joint celebration- staff Christmas and a colleagues birthday party and I just couldn't believe how well prepared they were(we were a big party) very polite and organised communication, they made our night easily enjoyable taking orders from the table. Even after running around all of our food which was lovely the young team member named Hannah still managed to carry out our birthday cake with a HUGE smile on her face, perfect end to a brilliant night.
