Placed in Town Centre New Inn was an amazing place to stay in. When I walked in I felt like I moved in time to XV-XVI century 😍 the old architecture is just amazing. I love places like that. If you’re like me you’ll just feel thrills of excitement jus seeing the inside off this place ☺️ My room was cosy and bed really comfortable. Staff was nice and friendly. Food was delicious.I went on a Ghost Tour in Gloucester and apparently this place is haunted 😉 nothing unusual happened so I have no evidence ;) but I recommend a tour, you can learn quite few interesting facts about the town ☺️(I’ve been there in May on Bank Holiday weekend)

We stayed in the lady Jane Grey suite for 2 nights . Absolutely loved the building we were able to explore all the corridors balconies and stairwell without a problem lovely history here. However........a bit dissapointed with our room. 4 poster bed was lovely and comfy ...and there was a fab really old wardrobe which was great to see but then a miss match of 80s style pine furniture. I can't understand why in a pub/building this old the room wouldn't be more in keeping with the age, style and history of the suite. This could be a selling point for this room alongside the amazing wood panelled room. Just seemed a bit neglected, needs a fresh pair of eyes on it to see its potential.Windows could do with a clean massive seagull poo all over the one.And also the shower head is too heavy for the bracket so really hard to use without flooding the bathroom however the water temp was perfect and the water pressure excellent. So all in all a really nice stay would stay again AND recommend but just needs a little bit of tlc.Expected it to be noisy being on the main high street but it wasn't. Many thanks

The place could really do with some TLC. It wasn't awful by any stretch, the breakfast was tasty and had slept quite well. Couple of examples were the TV remote didn't work, no biggy and then there was things like only 2 out of the 5 bulbs working in the light fittings. The place just needs some maintenance.

·

Uncomfortable bed, broken radiator in January, half the light bulbs didn’t work. The Wi-Fi only works in reception and was painfully slow. Tatty and poorly maintained. The amount of dust in corners of the room didn’t fill me with confidence about their ‘virological covid cleaning’.

I am absolutely disgusted that I even have to leave a review like this. This hotel is very beautiful and quirky and my partner and I were very overwhelmed with joy when we arrived. However, we missed our check out time and the maids were aware of this. They asked when they should come back and we replied “in one hour please.” They processed to keep coming back and forth every five minutes banging on the door. We repeated ourselves multiple times. My partner and I were showering when a man who we believe to be the manager. Walked into the hotel room. Thankfully the shower door was closed! He left the room very quickly after hearing us speaking in the shower. This man was well aware of us being in the room yet he decided to come in, bare this in mind! The whole situation then escalated very swiftly when someone opened the hotel room door AGAIN and then opened the shower door. They heard us showering and still decided to open the door. I shouted get out and quickly put a towel on to go and speak to this person who just invaded my privacy. I couldn’t find anyone near, they clearly ran off. After all of this, the man comes back, whom I believe was the manager. This man was absolutely disgusting towards me, he had no manners and attempted to manipulate the situation. He shouted at us through the hotel door that we need to get out and that he’s coming into the room now.My partner replied “No don’t come in I’m getting changed!” He said this twice in absolute panic.Even after hearing this, the man barged into the room to see my partner with his trousers half way up his legs.I confronted the man and told him that I was walked in on and was seen naked in the shower. I then said that no one should of even opened the bathroom door because they all knew we were in there. The water was running and we had already spoken to the maids so they knew we were in there! The man’s response to this was “the water running doesn’t always indicate that someone is naked” in a patronising tone.He completely dismissed the whole situation and turned everything on me. He then shouted “Well you shouldn’t of been here in the first place!”This argument was back and forth as I was trying really hard for him to be apologetic and show empathy towards the uncomfortable situation I was forced into. I had already apologised for missing our check out time but this wasn’t enough for him.I feel embarrassed that someone has come into mine and my partner’s personal space like this. I’m absolutely disgusted at the whole situation and especially with how this man dealt with it.This manager didn’t have a friendly face to begin with, he had a faint black eye and spoke harshly. I really wouldn’t trust this environment for anyone. Not for friends, couples or families. It’s not a safe place to stay. Not to mention the very uncomfortable beds and freezing rooms.

Great place to stay breakfast was lovely, don't expect a 5 star hotel but room was warm and comfortable and the actual building is amazing, don't want to change to much

So cute and sweet. Super clean room, friendly staff. Checked in early. Free parking from 5pm till 9.30am just outside. There is a lounge - kitchen with everything you might need. Kebab shop and grocery store just cross the road.

Great location in the middle of Gloucester city centre. It's not the Ritz but it is very good value. Left some earphones at the venue and the concierge has kindly offered to post them back to me.

I read some of the reviews, some excellent, some not so good. Decided to give it a whirl to find out as it wasn't expensive and heard nice things about Gloucester. All I can say is the new inn offers exceptional value for money. Beautiful building still retaining a medieval feel particularly in it's own courtyard. The room was more than sufficient and the breakfast was very tasty. Now if you want everything pristine and perfect this is not for you but if you want a warm welcome, helpful staff, a fabulous atmosphere, great location and incredible value for money, then I suggest you give this place a go. You won't be disappointed!

Excellent location close to station and cathedral, shopping etc. Huge and wonderful old building with incredible black beamed Tudor gallery round the courtyard. I kept imagining the ghost of Shakespeare! Good cooked breakfast though no fruit. Bedrooms accessed only by steep outdoor steps so check before booking if mobility is an issue. Parking. Obviously in such an old building there may be sloping floors etc.
