Anton's Bistrot in Mendip

Lovely lunch here with some old friends who recommended The Crown and glad they did. Food and service outstanding as were the beers/ciders on offer. Many thanks to the very pleasant waiter who made it a great time and kindly took a photo of the four of us. We will visit you again when next down from Woking.

I had a very enjoyable evening here. I had a perfect roast beef and hedgerow bake well tart with cream. The service was excellent 👍

Very helpful and polite staff, very welcoming. I had fish and chips which was delicious. A special mention to the manager who told us stories about the production of Hot Fuzz and the history of wells and the crown pub itself. Will definitely come again.

Pleasant pub busy but not crowded. Decent real ales and a good menu. Food was very tasty and staff were friendly

Slow service. Got kicked off our table because the people that booked it arrived 50 minutes early, despite the sign on the table saying “they were happy for us to sit there up to 15 mins before the booking”. A real shame

Very enjoyable 3 day break to see in the new year, the Crown was an ideal base to explore the local history and take in the many area walks.Clean, comfortable and well equipped rooms. Lovely restaurant and bar areas with very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent and well presented breakfast and evening meals were always served up with a smile.All in a all a very relaxing and enjoyable break, thank you all.

Fantastic food, had the Crown burger which was bloody lovely! The skin on fries are great, and very moreish, had to order an extra side order as well ( how do they cut them like that...a must go for Hot Fuzz enthusiasts as this is the village pub from the film 👍

We stayed here for a two night break and thought it very good value for money. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant ( nice decor) on our first night and had very good service and food. It was reasonably priced and the wine we chose very good.Some areas (carpets) in the hotel could do with a little TLC , but for the price we paid I have no complaint's. Our room was a lovely size and very clean, and had a bath. The breakfast was excellent. You could have a lovely fresh fruit salad before a well cooked full English. And the waitress was very attentive, offering more tea etc. We would definitely stay again. Many thanks to everyone for a lovely stay.......

There was a long wait for food today, Fish was lovely, hot and freshly cooked but the chips cold. No check-back or return for another drinks order, even when we asked it took 5 minutes for someone to come over.Very disappointing for the price.

Love it here! Would recommend to anyone to pay ‘The Crown’ a visit...the check-in is easy & without fuss, the hosts are lovely & welcoming & it has a great location.The link with ‘Hot Fuzz’ was one of the reasons I originally booked but have been every time I’ve visited the city since.It’s a quaint & traditional building in a lovely setting, parking is provided & the breakfast is a great way to set you up for the day ahead.Already booked for next year, Thank you so much for another wonderful holiday experience!
