Bear Inn Street in Mendip

We were passing through and stayed at the inn for one night with our 3 year old. We were given a room in the cottage a minutes walk from the main building which meant we didn’t have all the pub noise. We were well received on arrival, and polite and helpful staff promptly brought us the extra bedding we needed. Good facilities and nearby shop, lovely area. Would love to stay there again

The staff are very friendly and welcoming and efficient. our room was fairly basic with little storage but adequate for a two night stay, however everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was very good with good quality ingredients and options available for most tastes. Our overall experience was excellent and would recommend to others.Steve and sue fox.

Booked a table for my mum's birthday today, although their systems were playing up a little they found our table quickly and efficiently. Service flowed well, wasn't kept waiting but didn't feel rushed. And the lovely lady (sorry, I didnt get her name) even decorated the table with some birthday sequins which was a lovely touch. Thank you all for making the day memorable!

On arrival we had a minor problem with our booking payment. James sorted this for us by the morning with no fuss. All the staff were very friendly and polite. Meals were excellent, a decent size and served promptly. We stayed in one of the cottages next to the Inn and it was quiet and contained all we needed. A great place to visit or stay in great surroundings, very handy for the Clark's Village. Well done.

5 stars for Emma, Emma the manager is very good at her job putting the customers first and respectfully listening to them when problems arise,staff I know in the pub sector have a stressful and busy job, and I’d like to say I do understand that it can get hectic and thank you for the time you give to others.With training and feedback good and bad you will all shine , and people will want to visit again and again and remember everyone can learn new skills and negative feedback can help you just like positive feedback take care and we will see you when we can.

We went in for a family lunch today. I wasn't expecting much after my last visit a couple of years ago but I was pleasantly surprised! The decor was really nice and there was a new menu. Food and service were great. The games to keep the children entertained are a nice touch. We will definitely return!

The Bear Inn near Glastonbury is a gem!The price was very reasonable and despite being in an obviously old historic building, the lobbies and room were tastefully done and very well kept.The staff was very friendly and helpful during check in and throughout our visit.On a whim, we ate at the in house restaurant which is something we almost never do and I’m glad we did because it was fantastic.The inn is very well situated, just a few minutes drive to the parking areas for the Glastonbury Tor and Abby.If we are ever lucky enough to visit this area again, we will absolutely stay here again.Whatever you guys are doing - keep it up!

We only ate here but will try to stay here next time we visit. The food is great and the service was super-fast - my dessert got to the table before I got back from the bar ordering it! 🤣 We hadn't booked so weren't able to get a space in the restaurant, but the bar eatung area was spacious, comfortable and quiet so we were perfectly happy. Lovely bar-staff too. 😁

We stayed the night and had dinner/breakfast at the Bear and loved the experience. The accommodation was comfortable and very reasonably priced. The food was delicious, fantastic things on offer and delicious.There were so many nice touches like free sweets and games/blankets. Best of all, the staff were so friendly and helpful.It really surpassed our expectations and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel/pub and hope to friends. And we hope to go back again some day.

Myself and my friend went for lunch yesterday (Tuesday 8th March) and were exceptionally impressed. The decor is delightful, clean and bright. Our waitress Diane was great fun, and very efficient and the Manager Emma, had the biggest brightest smile ever. The food was great and the service very impressive. Will certainly go back again.
