Burcott Inn in Mendip

Sunday lunch is £15. Not worth the cost. Served on a board to make it look posh. Roast potatoes were disgusting. No idea what they were cooked in but they tasted weird. Even my Husband wouldn't eat them and he loves his roasties. Meat was cheap cuts. The pork was rolled belly which was fatty. Beef was tough and chicken was more bone than meat. Veg was very raw. Think it must have been shown the water not placed in it. Didn't have any other meals there. Roast has put me off. Beer was good, staff very friendly and atmosphere great

We sat in the lovely beer garden of this pub enjoying the absolutely amazing lunch. The food was faultless as was the service. Great value for money. Looking forward to our next visit!

Don't let the slightly ordinary surroundings put you off, it's clever camouflage. From the well kept beer, through the gorgeous starter (smoked salmon, Tiger prawns with beetroot and horseradish slaw) and outstanding mains (Chicken Ballotine, slow cooked shoulder of lamb) to the luscious desserts, this is cracking food made and served with skill and joy. From a happy paying member of the public who'd love The Burcott to be a well kept secret but they deserve the support they seem to be getting.

INCREDIBLE FOOD 😍!We visited twice when staying at their cottages, I wish the chef was local to us as their food was fabulous. Their brownie is the nicest I've ever had, I'm not usually a big dessert person but that brownie is a game changed.I also had what I can only describe as the best meal I've ever been given in a pub from their specials board - it was a pheasant dish and it tasted perfect, it was a good sized dish and was fantastic value for money.We will definitely visit again if in the area!

Sunday lunch on a platter was delicious.Roast Beef, Pork Belly and Chicken served with roasties, yorkies, parsnips and 4 other vegetable dishes.Puddings were pretty scrummy too.Definitely will be going to Burcott Inn again.

Harish was really welcoming and squeezed us in despite a late request. The food was outstanding; the lamb and duck were phenomenal. The bill was entirely reasonable. I'd highly recommend this place.

Absolutely fantastic food! One of the best meals we have had anywhere in the country. Service is so welcoming and polite, cannot recommend enough.

Only stopped for one beer. Real ale, kept well. Does food but definitely a pub not a foody place, which was good. Popular with locals, also good
