Garden Cafe in Mendip

I use to love this cafe, great vegan options, cosy and a great service.Now they've changed it and took the indoors seating area away they don't offer hot food service apart from take away sausage rolls etc salad boxes which I find more expensive than normal. Such a shame as it was a great place to meet friends and family whilst eating a great meal. Not my go to place in frome no more unfortunately and I find the vegan cafes in frome aren't great. So the garden cafe was top of the frome cafés. Bring back the indoor seating and lovely menu you use to do. ...

The service and produce is always genuine and natural here. Well worth a look if you are new to Frome and know food is the best medicine

Wow! Had a cinnamon bun, bloody marvellous. With my tea was very good price. Limited seating outside. Adjacent to the shopping centre. Avoid the chain cafes and come here. You will not be disappointed. Friendly staff.

I used to like this place, but when I went last week the man was so rude to me that we went elsewhere instead. His unpleasant sarcasm, took me a few minutes to realise how rude he was being to me. There are many other lovely cafes in Frome, so I shall avoid this one now.

Seems like a really artisan sort of place, it's simplistic design leaves room for the imagination to expect an amazing standard of coffee but falls short in reality. Although greeted with a hello, the staff were less than friendly, seeming impatient to take our order (which was wrong but that happens) leaving us feeling less than welcome than before we arrived. Unfortunately not somewhere I'd go again.

First time we were today after a long time Lovely helpful staff as we were not 100% sure where to enter into the cafe. Handgel on hand track n trace system Lovely lady assistant on hand. Took us to our table l much have preferred to sit at another table compared to the one we were shown.Anyway we had coffee n cake each. Couldn't fault any of it. Pleasant waitress. Nice atmosphere. Everywhere was clean Noticed quite a few customers, in the cafe and in the extension conservatory type cafe We will be back.The shop selling variety of food n groceries etc.It was all clean n everywhere looked tidy n good to look at including gifts etc.

Not the friendliest welcome, but the coffee and cake was good. Vegan food served so, after restrictions are lifted, I would like to take my disabled gran and my children and hope for a better experience.

Our experience with The Garden Cafe has become somewhat reminiscent of habit; we love their burger and they represent great value for money.We found the majority of visits to be excellent, with our most recent couple being a little underwhelming. Their vegan 'sausage' rolls are £3.90 each? They are not a large item and actually didn't resemble sausage meat in anyway - more of nut roast vibe. Coffee appeared to be organic, which is crucial; however, the use of a burr chamber grinder means you have no idea how fresh that ground coffee actually is.Overall, definitely worth a visit and the staff are generally very friendly.

This was a lovely find. I felt that I was sitting in a secret garden surrounded by flowers and old flagstones and individual tables and chairs. In the background was the tinkling of a water feature made from an old tea urn. Seating areas are covered so it doesn't matter if it rains. The steps are steep not suitable for wheelchair users but there is an inside cafe at street level. The the food is really lovely, unique healthy salads if that's your choice. Great place to bring a friend for lunch.

Absolutely fantastic food and entertaining staff. Will definitely visit when next in samui.
