Brilliant little place! The owner made us feel welcome and had some good banter! The ales are top notch!

If you are a real ale lover in Wells, this is where you're looking for. Past few times there's been 2 excellent real ales on the go, not sure if they offer more but it's always a good selection. Usually fairly local. They do an excellently priced takeaway, 1 or two pints of ale or cider. No nonsense, no tv or fancy interiors, leans more on the fleamarket side (not the trendy way). Keeps away the nonsense. Enjoy good chat and a good drink. Small outdoor seating area. You'll feel like a local.Such a wonderful addition to wells.Dog friendly. They are more than welcome and may end up on the board of fame."And you can really taste the hops!"

Didn’t even get as close as the bar before walking out.Got to the entrance and saw the CASH ONLY sign, so popped my head in and saw a lady at the table.I asked if it is strict on the cash onlyOr if they ask for a minimum on card. She looked at me with an odd look on her face, then literally laughed in my face and said “that is what the sign is for”Now if she would have responded in a normal way, I would have gone and got some cash out.Glad we walked away, pub looked so tattered, run down and dirty. No need to be rude when asked an easy question, we clearly wanted to come in otherwise we wouldn’t have asked.

We were treated like locals by Donna and had a great time. Sarah sold us some lovely scones which went down a treat for lunch next day and Donna insisted on finding us some butter too. This place is better than any tourist information bureau, we got lots of great tips. We'll definitely visit here when we're back in Wells. Cheers Donna and Sarah you made our day. Oh, we also enjoyed our beers - don't get served straight from the cask much these days.

This is the best place ever and such a hidden gem in Somerset. While all the gastropubs in the country are becoming a copy of another and have nothing special about them, this micro pub is an iconic place. I went for the first time in March 2020 before lockdown and came back just now after it re-opened again. It's worth the trip, do not miss it! Even if you're visiting Bristol or Bath, do drive down especially for it. Donna, the landlady, is so welcoming and lovely. It's a unique place and I really hope it will never change. The beer is brilliant, best dry cider I've ever had. Most importantly, our whippet was allowed and there is a sign saying: 'all dogs welcome'. There are also two tables outside, great for chatting to locals and sitting in the sun, we had the best time yesterday. This place is so unique, a real treat, make sure you go!

Quirky, unique, odd are how I would describe this "pub". Cash only, very small. Not many beers to choose from. Decor was a bit tired and overall did not feel comfortable there.Definitely an experience but unlikely to return!

This a fabulous one off of a micro pub. Felt like one of the family from the moment I crossed the threshold. The locals and landlady immediately including me in their banter. The ale was excellent too. If you're in Wells then Just Ales is a must. Oh and they do cider too!

·

A unique experience. It's like no pub of this age, but in a good way! Good selection of beer and cider.

Great little micro pub in Wells, Somerset. Good range of Real Ale beers from the barrel, and good range of ciders. 10/10 a must visit if you like your real ales and ciders.
