Little Chef in Mendip

Afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. Sandwiches were super fresh with a delightful assortment of fillings. Fresh cream and strawberry jam scones and gorgeous strawberry and fresh cream tartlets.Thoroughly recommended.I forgot to take a "before" photo....🤣

What a fabulous hidden gem. We noticed Hartley's on the way home and decided to stop for coffee. We were welcomed like the customers they'd been looking forward to seeing all day.The food was terrific, cooked in an open kitchen so you can see everything. There were loads of people coming in for lunch, who were obviously regular customers.My BLT was packed with bacon and really tasty. You could not fault the service and every single member of staff looked happy to be working there.There was an open fire, the decor was delightfully quirky, out of another era and totally charming and cosy. My first visit will not be my last.

5 of us visited for a family Sunday roast dinner. Starters were all good, roasts were lovely with plenty of choice and lots of veg. A small selection of desserts, the ones we chose were really lovely. The waitresses were attentive and friendly. No complaints at all. Would visit again

Lovely cafe, food is great, coffee is good and strong and staff so friendly. Log burner in the restaurant makes it nice a toasty during the winter 👌 Good selection on the menu and they are always happy to offer off menu choices

A very charming and friendly place. We had a delicious breakfast there, with a full English, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs and pancakes for the kids. All the family was happy. Highly recommended.
