Pecking Mill Inn in Mendip

The best place to stay for a visit to Glastonbury Festival, the owners were so friendly and accommodating - even driving us into the festival each day! Very comfortable bed and tasty food in the pub downstairs :)

Great hosts, super friendly , rooms need updating , like other reviewers said it is next to the road so there is a bit of road noise

Lovely friendly welcome. Fast check in. I booked a single got a double room. Nice snug room with ensuite with a shower, plenty of tea and coffee etc. Had a couple of great pints and a lovely meal. Great value considering other places locally. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Stayed here when we where going to a show at the Bath and West Show Ground.The noise from the road can be a little annoying if you are in the room at the front. But the service and the food definitely made up for it.Definitely give 5 stars for the food and service.Thank you and see you next year.

We had a 80 birthday meal for my dad' the evening meal was lovely room was lovely dessert was amazing staff very lovely as well room was lovely but very noisy with the road opposite and some one snoring all night got about 5 hrs sleep the breakfast let it down was expecting a bigger breakfast not a child's breakfast meant to be a full English but this was not so disappointing for me and my daughter a part from that it was OK but breakfast needs a big inprovement it was not a full English one sausage one egg one tomatoe a fue beans a of bit toast tiny tomato and bacon terrible I mite pop in for a meal but I won't be staying overnight a bit pricey a shame as we were treated very well maybe inprove the breakfast a full English is 3 sausages 2 eggs hash browns 2 mushrooms 3 bacon 2 beans lots toast2 not what we got very poor so 2 out 2

Really excellent stay. We were in the area for a family wedding and were very glad we picked this place. Room was nice and spacious with comfy beds. The building itself was charming, full of little personal touches. The owner and his girlfriend were very helpful and friendly with good conversations too.Oh and the breakfast was just right :)

Despite booking wrong weekend the manager was able to accommodate us and could not have been more helpful. A lovely characterful pub with a few rooms which were clean and comfortable with an excellent breakfast

Really great location just off a quiet but main road near Shepton Mallet, Pilton and Glastonbury. Really friendly owner (and his mate helping out on the bar). Nice patio pub garden to the rear with benches. Good parking. Stayed for bed & breakfast, rooms fairly basic but everything you need, showers very hot! Nice dining on the evening, and a few good local beers at the bar. Recommended for sure, will be visiting again!

Stayed here for work about a week prior to Glastonbury Festival. Its a nice little spot, it does look a little tired from the front but the room was clean and cosy. It appears that there are some improvements/decoration ongoing. The owner was friendly and welcoming and couldn't be faulted.Bar and restaurant area are classic cosy British pub, food was good quality and a selection of decent ales to wash it down with. There's a good sized beer garden to the back that makes up for the front.

I stay here for a week every year when attending New Wine at the Bath and West Showground. It's ideally situated....just a couple of minutes from the ground by car....and just the perfect place to stay. Friendly landlord, really comfy beds and rooms en suite and very reasonable with a great breakfast thrown in. I wouldn't stay anywhere else and I book for the following year as I leave. Such a lovely oldy worldy place too and a great restaurant. Highly recommended
