Hotel is essentially run down and in need of major updatesDecor and furnishings are in poor condition and dining room and bar has threadbare carpets. WC hand dryer didn't work, and floor coverings breaking apart. The exterior has timber cladding pealing away, doors and windows rotten etc.The bedroom was of a poor standard and the Maid only refreshed our rooms 1 of 4 days we stayed.Food in the bar was expensive for what it was at £19 for a mixed grill and tables sticky with residue.Do yourself a favour and avoid.pealing, coach lights broken etc.

Not the worst place I ever stayed, but then i’ve woken up with giant spiders walking up my bed. This place is shabby, a bit grubby but has one redeeming feature, it’s close to the Bath & West Showground. The cooked breakfast was consistent. Evening meals are standard pub fayre. Not suitable for a romantic stay away, light sleepers or those used to the contrasting luxury of a Travelodge.

We had a decent meal here, room we had was fine, for the price it was a bargain. Drinks were reasonably priced, would recommend.

We didn't stay over so I can not comment on the rooms but the food was not good.We went for the carvery on Sunday I found the price was very expensive for the adult size as seen as the kids plate was the same size, the vegetables were very hard and the Yorkshires were like rubber. The saving grace was the stuffing and cauliflower cheese which was delicious. The table was also sticky, overall it wasn't the best experience.

Well what can I say? After booking a while ago and feeling a tad apprehensive after talking to a few people I was very pleasantly surprised! Although it may look a little tired outside the inside couldn’t be more different.A very, very warm and friendly welcoming, great atmosphere, friendly and very helpful staff. The food was fantastic, great choice, hot and tasty. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and we had a fantastic nights sleep. The shower was hot and powerful, tea and coffee and shower supplies too. Nice soft towels too. What more can you want.As people that move around the country and stay on many hotels this is now at the top of our ‘ to return to’ list.Looking forward to it.Thanks for a superb nights kip!

Only one proper ale available. Perhaps they've had a busy day, but was hoping for a better selection of cask.
