A really busy restaurant, with a good range of pasta dishes and pizza. Visited twice within a week as entertaining clients. Good choice of vegan dishes. Attentive service, with enough staff. Room's available, see Rugatinos for reviews.

Astonishing Italian food and wine. Food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely call in again. Thank you to all the team who looked after us.

You have got to love Rugantinos restaurant it’s always a great experience, a family restaurant since 1974! situated in the best spot in wells right opposite the spectacular wells cathedral, the second dining room has a romantic setting where you can see such stunning view whilst enjoying the cosy attentive and warming atmosphere of the restaurant; The excellent cuisine has got the traditional touch of Jon(co-owner with his brother Nick)from the central italy in Umbria where Franco (their dad) the founder was from, mixed with the incredibly vast and highly levelled gourmet kitchen of sous chef Neil, that had worked in the best hotels and restaurants in London. At the front with Nick in charge looking after you, the quality of the service is guaranteed, as well as an incredibly ample choice of wine spirits a d proper italian coffee, all of it topped with the Italian warming welcome of husband and wife Lucilla and Mirko.Grazie

We went for lunch and oh my, it was delicious! We had three courses and the food was superb! You get good portions but I wasn't uncomfortably full and the flavours were amazing. I recommend the truffle ravioli. The staff are lovely too. The bathrooms could do with a refresh of the decor but were clean. Uplifting those probably would have moved it to a 5 star for me.

Fantastic Italian food at reasonable prices in a great location, served by friendly staff. Really enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend. One of the best in Wells!

The food is very good, and proper authentic Italian. It's not cheap so it's more wealthy retired crowd when I was in there on a Thursday evening. You need to book ahead or you wont get in. The setting is a lovely old building in Wells which is an amazing place to visit.

Absolutely stunning. Really excellent food and a bonus that it's in the hotel we're staying at. The Dover sole with samphire and crevettes was perfect (really tasty and slid off the bone) and the veg with it were really fresh and cooked to perfection. Desserts were fresh and tasted home made. Brilliant wine selection too.Service was fantastic and friendly and we felt very Covid safe with the windows open a bit and the ceiling fans gently moving the air around. We were not cold. Highly recommended. Not the cheapest place I've eaten but well worth every penny. Very good value.

Wonderful place ,great location and friendly atmosphere. The Italian menu was lovely, but we were too early for specials! 5.15pm! Nevertheless we all enjoyed a great meal with excellent service!! Highly recommended for most occasions! 👍

Really lovely Italian restaurant, would recommend to anyone to try the food and experience of the restaurant. we was staying at wookie hole so was not far. 1 min walk from the main town center. My family being Italian we are always looking for authentic Italian foods, such lovely flavors and good quality ingredients. i had the gnocchi it was like eating a fluffy cloud so soft and the mushroom sauce was amazing.I would say ask for a view by the window because you get a beautiful view of the cathedral and the green. The prices are good for the portion sizes you get and we would defiantly book again when we next come that way.Thank you to all the staff for being so kind and attentive, and the kitchen staff for all the beautiful food produced.

Have wondered what to write about Rugantino. It's difficult put into precise words our thoughts. The food we had was first class, accompanied by a very agreeable bottle of Chianti followed by an excellent dessert. Add to this friendly and helpful staff who made us feel at ease despite all the Corona nonsense. What more could we ask for? Nothing. This is an accurate and brief note of our experience here. It sounds as though we are on the pay roll, we are not! But we are very pleased we have experienced this level of service now and previously on many occasions. That is why we keep returning, consistent high standards.
