Sunrise Chinese Takeaway in Mendip

(A message I sent to this so call Chinese)..we have just spent £32 with you, after sitting down to enjoy the meal, we were very disappointed. It was cold, the sweet and sour sauce was so thick it wouldn't come out of the pot, and the chicken in each meal was cheap frozen imitation chicken..disgusting. The food went in the bin!!! How you feel the right to sale this is beyond me, I look forward to your reply, before publishing on your Web site to warn others not to waste their money.(Their response) In fact,the chicken we used isthe same supplier for years,if you don't like it,we are happy to refund if you can return the unconsumed meal,I'm sorry you don't like the meal,but if everyone saying they don't like it and throw it to bin,we cannot stand for over 15 yearPLEASE DONT USE THIS TAKE AWAY, THEIR FOOD IS DISGUSTING CHEAP MEAT, THEIR ATTITUDE STINKS!! OVER PRICED FOR CHEAP FROZEN IMITATION MEALS. THIS IS NOT A PROPER CHINESE ITS A READY MADE MEALS SELLING AT OVER PRICED FOOD!!!.

Food is always yummy, but super long wait times which can be frustrating

We went here as our usual wasn't open but we were very disappointed. The chicken was awful and tasted very wrong. The curry sauce was off and gloopy. Even the rice and chips didn't taste right!

Been using them for years and never had a bad meal from them.

One star for existing. Ordered duck and rice. Rice was stuck in a lump. Duck was caked in soggy batter, no mention on menu. Whole thing was revolting and looked disgusting. Will never eat there again. Always the same with chinese in small country towns. Duck in plum, sauce is supposed to have plum sauce, not fried in batter with soggy onions. Dont go there. Look at the photos.

Service was prompt and polite and the food was lovely!Spare ribs were tender and generous and the chips were seasoned nicely. The prawn toast and chicken balls were delicious as was the beef chow mein. Spring rolls might've had a bit more filling to roll, but particularly enjoyed the sweet and sour sauce!Really enjoyed my meal, will go again

One of the best Chinese takeaways I've had. Staff are always very friendly orders are processed quickly and good size portions.

First time buying from here, ordered the basics (Chicken chow mien & sweet and sour chicken) and it was absolutely delicious. By far the best Chinese in the area.

Ordered the Duck fried rice and Lemon Chicken. Both of which were delightful and came in generous portions. The price is great for a chinese with main dishes averaging at the £5 mark. Service was friendly and extremely quick, no longer than 5 minutes on a Friday evening. 5/5 definitely recommend!
