Ancient coaching inn right in the centre of town... Probably what you have in mind as old school Glastonbury; stone decor lots of retro decor (think witches). Very roomy, mix of local ales and branded beers. Didn't eat here but groups at tables looked very happy with the food. Essential stop off in glasto and right opposite the abbey ruins

Jackie and Karen pretty much run the place, and their level of service make it what it is. The breakfasts were delicious, dinners were good too. Out of the 5 of us, I had the smallest room. I had to turn sideways to get by both sides of the bed. So avoid room 5 if you are claustrophobic! My first visit to the UK, and appreciated the instant hot water. The bed was comfy, but the pillows were flat and hard. No one else in the group complained so that's just my taste. This is a great central Crewkerne location. Other restaurants close by. Also enjoyed dining at the Crooked Swan and the Indian restaurant across the street was excellent. I would recommend this place!

What a fantastic eaterie in the heart of Glastonbury. We wandered in, weary and hungry and were welcomed nicely. Good banter with staff and the service was quick. Got a comfy seat and food arrived in good time. Well presented, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Great variety available on the menu too. We had bangers and mash and the buttermilk chicken strips and they were scrumptious. Great ale and lager on tap too. Will definitely be back next time we are in town.PS The dipping sauce with the buttermilk chicken strips is amazing!

Perfectly located hotel. There is a restaurant/pub downstairs that serves tasty food. The service is fast.A huge thank you to the lady at the reception for allowing me to borrow the phone charger as mine got broken and we safely arrived back home :)The rooms are clean and cosy and it’s very quiet at night! Thank you

The building was just phenomenal; full of character, charm, and history and our room was just amazing. The staff was very helpful and kind and breakfast was delicious. The hotel is on the High Street and is the perfect location for all that you want to do whilst in town.

Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly.Breakfast is the best meal here, IMO. Coffee is excellent! Not fond of the dinner we had but the calamari starter was fantastic; the batter/spices outranked my curried cauliflower, which were delish but tasted nothing of curry. My main was grilled vegetable kabob. Although the vegetables were yummy, my kabob consisted of one 4/5 inch skewer with courgette slices, mushrooms, onion -maybe another piece of veg but I am sad to say I was too shocked at the lack of veggies to totally enjoy it. It was served with rice and 4 quarters of flatbread.I hope the restaurant has a look at revamping this main, to make these yummy veggies the star of the plate, especially as veggies are less dear when bought in bulk. Thanks for a great stay! We will definitely stay here again!

Victory! 🤣 Tried booking here for years, but always picked busy periods. This time I got in! Booked 2 rooms even, hahaha.Love this place. Its old, it's got many of the original, hundreds years old, features. The food is grand, breakfast, lunch and dinner.Staying here is an adventure in itself.

Visiting Glastonbury and popped into the Pilgrim on the off chance of lunch on Mothering Sunday & was very pleased they had space. Ordered the roast beef. Meal arrived quickly - less than 10min wait - and it was colourful! Red cabbage, spring greens, carrots, parsnips, roasties, cauliflower cheese and a huge Yorkshire pud as well as a huge portion of tender beef..... Very impressed with the food, service and will definitely be returning to eat there again

Best pub in Glastonbury without a doubt. Absolutely beautiful pub dating from the 15th century, which probably hasn't changed that much since then. A must visit if you are visiting the area.Good food every time I had it, lovely environment in different rooms and an outside seating at the back great for the summer. Lovely selection of local ales with a nice line up of Bristol Beer Factory's casks every time. Love it!

Have just stayed here for 2 nights. After reading reviews over the last 7months of bad food and bad staff, i was shocked as we found the staff very friendly, helpful and chatty from the time we booked in.Our food the first night was lovely. Arrived in good time and the chunky chips were to die for 🤣 the rib beef burger was very meaty and delicious.Breakfast came with the price of the room. It was lovely. Good ingrediants used i thought. The waiter who was Dutch i think, was lovely, very friendly and couldnt do enough to make sure we had all we wanted. Our second night evening meal was just as nice. Different waiter, chatty, friendly and funny! I asked for a good portion of coleslaw as it was so nice and the chef heard... he joked with us about it, but a huge portion of coleslaw arrived on the plate! Thanks Chef! 🤣Second day breakfast again was nice. There were two housekeepers who were also very chatty, smiley good fun to talk to, so im not sure where the bad staff reviews come from?We loved our four poster room. It was huge!Only negative i could say is that for the price of the rooms, the decor and some furnishings need upgrading. Not worried about creaky floorboards or squeaky wooden wardrobes, its an old place ... but cracks in a bath panel and a lamp base, a dodgey sofa and holes in the wallpaper that have been filled in , need to be addressed. .. but ... in all fairness, i did overhear talk of a refurb...To end on a positive, the hotel is lovely. Lots of history and has a nice feel about it . 😊Look out for Ken...he can tell you anything and everything you want to know about the hotel 😊
