For picturesque location alone The George wins the Palme d'or. An ancient coaching inn beside a flowing stream with an authentic moated medieval castle on its doorstep. Does it get more cute? Good menu and good selection of Wadworh ales are almost a bonus and the friendly staff are most helpful. Nunney is a village you must visit if travelling in the Frome area and The George is a real treat to add to the experience.

Great food - but overshadowed by the poor waitress service. No attempt to resolve issues during meal, manager deducted £1 off of the already pricey bill afterwards. Shame -we won't be back.

One of the worst service experiences of my life.Staff were snappy, rude, unhelpful and at times obnoxious. We went for a sunday roast and had booked ahead of time for the afternoon. Two of three roasts arrived. And then 8 to 9 minutes later we finally asked where was the third was, we were told it was still cooking and would be another few minutes. We were then bought a roast and told it had gone to the wrong table. So not only was it a lie but the completely wrong meat was on the roast dinner. Pork not chicken, so we were very thankful that none of the table had religious concerns. When they were informed not only was there not an apology but we also paid full price.

Beautiful pub in a beautiful village. Lovely Xmas decorations. Parking bit of a pain. The pub has got a car park but it's shall we say better suited to small cars! Had the Sunday roast which was well cooked tasty and plentiful. Staff were friendly and attentive. They coped fine with a group of ten. Fairly standard menu at medium prices. £15 for the roast.

I loved this place. For a change this wasn’t a work trip. I went with my wife and two dogs! Yes DOGS! It’s a dog friendly hotel! We were on an ‘eBay Mission’ collecting some armchairs from Frome and our Airbnb host let us down at the last minute. Well, it turn out well because AirBnB gave us a refund and credit to put towards a hotel which we needed as we’d already set off from Sheffield!!Life stories aside, this place is beautiful. It’s pretty ancient too but the rooms are great. Ours had the view straight over to Nunney Castle! But the fact that we were allowed to bring our ‘boys’ Ted and George (yes George in The George!! Haha!) and they were greatly welcomed and catered for. They even had dog beds in the room as well as bowls and treats! They loved it! We ate an evening meal here too and it was delightful. Great beers on tap and an extensive gin selection. It just made the whole trip worthwhile and then we had the bonus of walking around the castle in the morning! I’d love to come back. Oh, and did I mention the breakfast was excellent!!? We’ll, it was! Top notch!

Our third visit to the George at Nunney. An excellent inn with good quality pub grub and Wadworth's 6X. Friendly service. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped.

Loved the character of room. Only stayed one night but staff were very welcoming. It was my partners birthday and they arranged for flowers to be left in the room and even put a few banners and decorations up which was a great touch.

A wonderful 17th century pub that graces the area by the old castle at Nunney. A nice clean and modern interior with very good friendly service. The food was very good, and reasonably priced. Certainly difficult to fault it, and recommend it as a pub/ Hotel that is well worth a visit.

Hard to give an accurate assessment as they where hosting a wedding I think. It was good the food was good pub food and the place is clean . I had muscle's in creamy bacon and onion sauce with bread and fries 🍟 and it was tasty. Not sure if I would go again as a good few of the patrons where wearing bow ties 🧐

Very nice place to stay, all staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very tasty.Unfortunately sound proofing from the pub noise was not great... but this is a very old building, so apart from spending a small fortune... its something you will have to put up with. Fabulous location close to many attractions
