The Holcombe Inn Restaurant in Mendip

19th March 2022:A cut above the rest! What a fabulous night we spent here. The Holcombe has been beautifully renovated and had the most well appointed and comfortable bedroom we have stayed in for a long time. (Room 2). Great mattress, top plumbing in the bath and shower, nice toiletries, fresh milk, bottled water and home made biscuits - a nice touch.Stunning views and sunset.The professionalism and friendliness of the owners and staff was second to none - the service could not be faulted and the food had been created by someone who knew exactly what he was doing. Perfect pink lamb for me and luscious Hake for my husband. The puddings are not to be missed - art on a plate. Yorkshire Rhubarb custard and a high soufflé. (Made me think of Anatole in Jeeves.) We will be back for more! Thank you.

Such a wonderful break. The owners and all the staff were so welcoming and kind. The rooms are a really good size, immaculate, tastefully decorated and the bathroom had a great sized bath (great tea selection and a homemade cookie on arrival were wonderful little touches). It’s the perfect country break away destination. The food was delicious, true farm to table - if the curried pork loin is on the menu, it’s a must. The Holcombe is also in such a great location being only 30 mins from both Bath in one direction and Glastonbury in the other. Check out The Holcombe Farm Shop in the village too.

We had SUCH a lovely night away at The Holcombe Inn. Really one of the best stays we’ve had in a while. It’s a beautiful hotel and we stayed in one of the lodges which was simple stylish and very comfortable. The main bar and restaurant is perfectly cosy; exactly what you want for a country getaway. Caroline, Alan and the rest of the staff were so friendly and accommodating - always checking if we were ok. Alan’s food was gorgeous and there was a lot of yummy wine involved too. Thank you, we’ll be back!

The owners and staff were absolutely brilliant in looking after our party of nine chaps. The food, from the comforting full English breakfasts to the Michelin calibre dinners were superb and the wine list very well priced and considered. We would definitely book again and not hesitate to recommend!

Beautifully designed and comfortable rooms, delicious food and great wine list, the chef is exceptional! We had a wonderful weekend staying at the Holcombe and are already planning our next visit.

We just hired out all the bedrooms and the 3 lodges for our wedding weekend to host our guests. Alan and Caroline were nothing less than amazing - super welcoming, easy going and ready to assist in any way they could. Their food is excellent! All our guests were extremely positive about the high quality and cosy feeling in the rooms, particularly those with baths in their rooms! We would thoroughly recommend to anyone to come and visit this delightful hotel for a country getaway.

Great food, one of my favourite restaurants. Enjoyed a vegan meal tonight which was extremely tasty including a vegan dessert. Highly recommended

We stayed here overnight after being at their first wedding reception. The room was lovely comfy bed ,great views from the room and added bonus.The service and food at the reception were of a high standard. As a dairy free person they made extra efforts to provide for me and the chocolate souffle was amazing.Thank you we will be visiting again.
