Amazing. Really good service from the staff and the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced.

Stopped here with our bicycles (Timsbury Cycle Group) on a Sunny Friday afternoon. Nice Thatchers and Moretti. The lady serving was also a keen cyclist which was really cool. Nice spot to sit and watch the world go by!

So then, I stayed at this place for a couple of nights over a Friday and Saturday and whilst in decor terms the rooms are lovely, what isn't so great is the noise from the bar below, especially when it goes on until 2am in the morning resulting in 3hrs broken sleep!I had to call the emergency mobile contact number to ask the noise be reduced, it did drop fairly quickly but shouldn't have been going on until 2am to begin with when people were paying £90+ per room/night, complete disrespect by the landlord for those trying to sleep above. The following night there was more noise again, this time going on until after midnight when a further call had to be made. He claimed the first night's noise was due to a colleagues "wake" after having recently passed away and whilst there is some sympathy for this it doesn't mean it's fine to keep your paying occupants awake until 2am!I took this up with the landlord, a rather meek and mild sounding character however as the client I was working for had paid for the room it made things difficult for me to try and claim something back directly, despite me being the one who had suffered! Speaking with a member of staff, who shall remain nameless, after disclosure of this information they told me that these "late night after hours parties" often take place. My client has emailed and tried to contact the landlord directly but claims he's received no communication, a "divide and conquer" concept to try and clearly avoid any form of settlement, either that or he's not receiving his emails? He'll probably reply to this and quote that I'm out of hand or swore at him on the phone however there clearly isn't much of a direct way to get through to him as he clearly didn't want to compensate me directly either. So, in short, stay here if you want a nice room but don't expect an early night, neither any form of compensation or compassion from the landlord if you're not happy or there's a problem.I've reviewed hundreds of places on Google and generally everything gets four or five stars, sadly on this occasion the establishment let me down and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Looks impressive but isn't. Expensive and not great.Had lunch here yesterday. I had the fish stew. Was not impressed. Had stomach ache for the next several hours. My friend had cauliflower cheese and some chips. We had to send it back to the kitchen as the cauliflower was frozen in the middle. The menu made no mention of a compulsory service charge. The beer was passable hence 2 stars instead of 1.

We went for a meal here but I would never go again.First of all, it became apparent that the three of us were not given the same menu! Two of us ordered a starter of salt baked beetroot, cashews, pear and black garlic but received whipped goats cheese, beetroot, walnuts and black garlic.I ordered pork belly, scallops, cauliflower and apple but I received scallop, pork belly sweet corn and a sweetcorn puree.I know that starters are not meant to be massive but for £8.50 a couple of very small scallops and two tiny slices, about an inch square and a third of an inch thick is way over the top. To be fair, the pork belly was delicious but the two pieces weren't even a month full.We had steak for main course. The parts of the steak which were edible were acceptable but by no means outstanding and there was a lot of gristle which was completely inedible. The "three times cooked" chips looked delicious but although they were crispy on the outside, overall the were horribly dry and impossible to eat without plenty to wash them down with. The main ingredient of the watercress and shallot salad was capers!! which was a surprise as no mention was made of them on the menu.I will say that the waitresses were lovely which is the only reason I am giving 2 stars. I will never, ever waste my money on the over priced food here again.

Great pub with wonderful displays of interesting items everywhere!! An impressive collection of enamel signs ! This is a friendly and warm place to visit!! Great food and a lovely place all round!! Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍👍

This seems to be anice pub trying to be a restaurant. The staff whilst all friendly seemed to be incredibly slow to serve you. Took an absolute age to get our drinks, drinks ordered during the meal didn't arrive. The manager was around but seemed more interested in people drinking there.Could be good if they can sort out the service or lower the prices if not.

Just had a lovely lunch here today. The manager was so welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. Great atmosphere and really, really good food. Can't recommend enough and will definitely be back.

It's okay place to eat and work. Only working for 2 years as a KP and it's been okay. Am a college student for ict. So not experienced in working in a kitchen but the most chefs are very nice and supportive. If you want to work in a restaurant then this is a great place. It's also great to eat. :)

A very friendly pub with lots of character.Excellent service from the staff they couldn't do enough for us. We were made to feel very welcome. We were shown to our room which was spotless, immaculate in fact. The food was outstanding and could even accommodate allergies, Gluten, Dairy etc. This wonderful well run pub is a must if you're staying or just passing through. You will definitely not be disappointed and we will definitely be returning.
