The Refectory in Mendip

Went as a non resident for a birthday lunch. Wonderful setting. It was very busy, most staff were very friendly however I think some staff seemed slightly overwhelmed by the busy service and seemed stressed, which was clear as a customer. Really wonderful outlook and great local menu.

Beautiful place to spend a couple of days in the countryside. The room was wonderful with a nice view and the bathroom was great, with Bramley toiletries. The restaurant was also very good. The breakfast table is so complete that you don’t really need to order anything else from the menu. They work with local farmers and you can find out more about the vendors if you ask the nice staff.I also had a wonderful massage in a cabin in the middle of their orchard.

What a great place! The kitchen gardens are so impressive, the hotel gardens are delightful and all set in the folds of the Mendips, so beautiful. On top of that the hotel is packed with helpful, interested staff. The service is excellent. And the food is very generous and so well cooked!! A treat to all your senses.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at The Pig, which I can’t praise highly enough. Every member of staff was super friendly, whilst being professional, and went out of their way to be helpful. It is a very efficient, well run establishment in a gorgeous rural setting. Dinner was delicious, served by attentive staff

What a fabulous restaurant. We ate in the garden dining area, it was beautiful and well heated for the cooler evening. Food was wonderful, excellent veggie options, cooked to perfection. The service was exceptional; friendly, attentive, knowledgeable - such a great evening. The grounds are stunning too. Thoroughly recommend 👌

Room was amazing - only complaint was that it was very hot (radiator in bathroom wouldn't turn off) very clean, very comfortable bed) really helpful and friendly staff. The food is amazing, the evening menu is quite pricey for what you get, sides are required to make the meal substantial enough In my opinion and this racks up the price. The breakfast however was the best I have ever had and very reasonable for what is included! I would stay again just for the breakfast!

Absolutely gorgeous country side views along side a beautiful hotel and restaurant venue. The staff where very tentative and helpful and the bar area was very inviting and we'll decorated. The drinks are made exquisitely and the food is devine and delicious. Myself and my husband had a fabulous evening and will definitely be returning again soon for another outstanding meal together. Maybe next time we will be able to stay and spoil ourselves a little more.

Excellent food in a very picturesque setting, but the staff are what really set The Pig apart! We had a fantastic 3-night stay over the Easter weekend and enjoyed everything about our time here. The food was delicious and wandering around the grounds / kitchen garden with a drink was very relaxing. We were in one of their smaller rooms, but the accommodation was very comfortable and felt much roomier than the “cosy” name implies.Where The Pig always excels is the attitude of their staff. Bath was no different, with Alice and Adam making ours particularly memorable (there were others but we didn’t catch their names!). From taking a genuine interest in your day, to small gestures when celebrating an occasion, to offering to drive us back to our car the morning after a wedding… they couldn’t have made us feel more at home. Thanks for a memorable weekend - we’ll be back as soon as we’ve regained our appetite!

We've just returned from a two night stay at the pig. We were attending my sons wedding at priston mill and they don't have accommodation. The pig is beautiful. Bedrooms are amazing. Breakfast just gorgeous. Bit of confusion over payment of final bill but eventually sorted. Bit pricey however it was a family occasion and one we wanted to celebrate. An unforgettable experience.

We booked in yesterday for a 2 night stay in this lovely hotel. Our room (The Hide) is situated in the hotel grounds in a lovely quiet spot. Our evening meal was exceptional. Delicious food and wonderful friendly service from start to finish. We are currently sitting in one of the reception rooms enjoying an afternoon of cocktails and beers accompanied by some Piggy Bits (nibbles) We have had the pleasure of having Silas as our server. I must say What a lovely young gentleman he is. Thank you Silas for making us feel so welcome. You are an asset to the business. Kind regards from us both.
