Hi Just had lunch here at Ring o Bells and and a delight, great country pub , welcoming Landlord, good varied menu and plenty of rooms. Food served was tasty and home-made. Good VFM. Well done to chef and landlord. Thoroughly recommend and we will be back. This is the sort of pub that must be supported.

We've been regular customers at the Ring of Bells for a few years but don't live in the village so decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay so we didn't have to drive home at the end of the evening. What a treat it was! The food was fantastic and our room was beautifully designed and had everything we needed. A delicious, leisurely breakfast topped off a perfect stay. Can't recommend highly enough!

Charming traditional Inn with letting rooms on the historic village green whose antecedents meander back to 600BC. The Inn is rather more recent than that you'll be pleased to hear. Great beer and welcoming service.

Room was lovely, warm, nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, as were bathroom and shower. Coffee and tea making with biscuits. Didn’t have a meal as we were off to meet friends for breakfast. Would not hesitate to recommend and hope to stay there again.

Think twice before ordering the pies, and the landlord really doesn't like bad feedback.Went there with my wife for dinner. Ordered, seated, all well so far. I ordered a pie and was told it would take 45 minutes; it took an hour and a quarter. My wife ordered a steak; crucially, the server didn't ask how my wife wanted her steak done, and we didn't notice.Anyway, after waiting for an hour and a ten minutes, a steak was put in front of my wife. One minute later, it was removed; "Wrong order", we were told. Just as well my wife hadn't cut into it then. However, a few minutes later food eventually arrived and at this point rather than getting better, things went rapidly downhill. The lamb and stuffing pie was dry, way too salty and the lamb was very tough. My wife, who likes her steak well done, was served something that looked like a blue steak, not cooked all the way through and pretty much cold and uncooked in the middle. The blue cheese sauce was essentially cream with some blue cheese thrown in, no stock, no wine, no reduction, just cream and cheese. We ate what we could. I should add that though the cooking was very poor, the ingredients did seem to be good quality. Even so, they were served scarcely edible. My wife went to pay and commented to the landlord about the cooking of the steak; he said it had been ordered medium rare when no-one had asked about this. When my wife commented about the sauce, his response was a blunt "Get out".So, a one star pub with poor cooking and an unfriendly landlord. I've given it an extra star because the ingredients did seem to be good quality, though perhaps I'm being a bit generous. If you go there, make sure you pay attention that everything is covered when you order and perhaps think twice about ordering a pie if you're hungry.
