The Royal Oak in Mendip

Poor value for money. Not enough meat on the platter for sunday lunch, when i expressed to staff there wasn't enough meat i was told well that's it. Meat and yorkshire puddings cold so it was microwaved to reheat!!. Desserts were very poor value for money small is an understatement.

Lovely food just a shame the yorkshire puds were a bit crispy/burnt and could of done with more cauliflower cheese for 8 people!

Looked after all the time we were there. Food was great at reasonable price would recommend thanks.

Very good indeed, a bit of chicken or meat on menu would be nice.

Food was very nice great choice, good service. The restaurant was just to load, could not hear my friends talk.

Recent visit for dinner and also came in today for and ad hoc lunch. Both times the service and food were excellent. Definitely recommend the place.

Fantastic meal made from locally sourced ingredients. Olives with rosemary foccacia (bread is to die for!) to start followed by the tastiest lamb shank I have ever had, served with cabbage and bacon mash and root veg. The flavours and textures were amazing. No room for dessert but finished with good coffee. Will definitely be back very soon!! Highly recommended 👍 😊

Easy to find, ample parking, cosy decor, spacious garden, exceptional service, good covid protocols. We had the mac and cheese, fish and chips, and sweet potato fries. It was all delicious. Coffee was fantastic too. Shame we don't live close enough to frequent on a regular basis!A must for anybody wanting to support a local independent business whilst day-tripping to clarks Village.

Always book at least 3 wks in advance, we live in Walton and treated our parents to this amazing roast dinner experience, many thanks to the staff and chef for catering for every thing,great food as always thank you (party of 8 at 12.30)
