Went to go for lunch off on a Friday afternoon just before two o’clock, unfortunately they said they kitchen was just closing which seem d early on a Friday. Ordered some drinks to sit in their back garden but unfortunately their garden furniture was rotted out so badly we had a drink spill off the rotting table onto my partner. They refilled the drink water high was lovely but overall disappointed in our visit.

Visited on a Bank Holiday weekend Saturday lunchtime, when the nearby steam railway stopped serving food, and what a great decision.Pub is lovely, outdoor patio area overlooking duck pond, complete with the duck family.Welcoming staff and the light lunches we had were very tasty, the rest of the food coming out also looked delicious - wish it was our local!

Fab pub, great atmosphere with friendly staff. The food is consistently better than your average pub food and the menu changes. It is worth phoning ahead to book your table to avoid being disappointed.

Stumbled across this lovely pub for an unplanned lunch while on a visit to Shepton Mallet. The food was superb (try the fish pie!), the service was subtle, attentive and excellent, and the beers kept immaculately, and all at a good price. We're not often in Shepton Mallet, and it's a pig of a journey from home, but the Strode Arms suddenly makes it all worthwhile. Back as soon as we can!

Popped in for lunch and a pint today; found the pub by pure chance as we were diverted through the village due to a road crash.Excellent beer and wine with very good food plus great friendly happy service. What more could one ask!!!

On the Cask Marque AleTrail, as all Wadworths taverns are and the main purpose of this reviewers visit. This pub would be worth a visit under any circumstances, affable staff, good food at a fair price (and be hungry, portions are generous) and the ale, well deserving of the Accreditation awarded. The setting, especially during a warm sunny day like on this visit, is rural tranquility. Opposite a duck pond in the centre of a village with buildings dating back to the 15th century. The pub itself, once a 15th century farmhouse, became a pub/tavern in the 18th. Its not an all-day-every-day establishment, so check their excellent website for opening times.
