3rd visit. Once last year. And twice on this Glasto trip. All 3 occasions I came for a meal. One of the very few places that serves food all day during the quieter week. When I visited the 3rd time, service was lacking when I asked the staff member if they were still serving food. Yes, came the reply and he nonchalantly slowly swings round and pointed to the menus further away on the counter and stated briefly which menu was what and walked away. I was like huh? OK. Grab myself a menu, sat in the courtyard. Waited 10mins for service so i could order. No one was coming, so I went to the bar to order. It was then I sussed, there was only one member of staff - a barman (explains the lack of waiting skills) holding down the forte (bar and restaurant). Having come from two decades of working in the service industry, I sympathised the situation he was in. Service thereafter was fine. I had the seafood linguine, which I was pleasantly surprised. The pasta was done to perfection and it tasted delicious esp. The accompanying sauce, so decided to capture a photo and post a review. The feedback I'd offer the establishment is that if you're having bar staff stand in to do waiter'ing job then spend a little time to train them up on Service . You wouldn't expect waiting staff to automatically know how to work behind a bar and pull a good pint or make cocktails.

Good food, pie was full of meat but pastry was dry which spoilt it....other food was great, polite and friendly staff, certainly would return.

A bit disappointed that no-one was rude to us, after reading a few other reviews. We stayed on Saturday night, arrived early, was in a room by 1pm...Everyone was polite, chatty and helpful. No noise heard from restaurant/bar downstairs or outside. Breakfast was well cooked including the poached egg ! Absolutely no concerns on returning.

Enjoyed the food and the beer, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, no music so could hear what your lunch companions were saying. Will go again !!
