A great place to have a tea, coffee, cake or a light meal. Staff very helpful and friendly. Always a delight to relax in this historic building and cafe.

After an amazing touring around the wonderful cathedral, it's worth having a break for tea or coffee and snacks in the cathedral café. Very helpful and polite staff and lovely view of the cathedral.

Good selection of food. Plated or soup options for vegetarians. Great choice of cakes. Good serving of milk for the tea (I hate it when cafes skimp on milk).

A fantastic little cafe with a good spread and a very friendly welcome! Loads of space and facilitys/entertainment for a toddler. The only issues (and only reason for 4 stars not 5) is the fact we didnt know you were there till we searched on Google! An A-board in the street highlighting yourselves would be amazing (possibly in the pennyless passage? Sorry didnt get the name!)

Nice location. Sensible prices and range, in that they don't try to offer too much but keep it simple good quality. I would recommend it.

I visited Wells Market today, and decided to pop into the Cathedral Cafe, as I hadn't been there for a while.I checked out the menu, and daily specials on the board before going upstairs to the cafe. Nice to have this available. The Cafe was quiet ...and the selection of sweet treats and sandwiches were all tempting, but I decided on a cream tea. The scones are really good here. Then I got a seat at the bar area to look out over the moat, and enjoy the sunshine .I enjoyed my time .

We went it today waited for 20min to be served and then told we just missed lunch service by 3min when they finally came to serve us! When we said we'd been waiting the waitresses said she did tell us but she didn't. Slow, poor and rude service, just ignored us so they didn't have to do a food order! Wouldn't even do a sandwich. In the end we didn't make a fuss we just left to find another place which would serve us.Went down to the fosso lounge and it was lovely and the atmosphere was alot more friendly.Wont be going back to the well cathedral cafe which I'm sure make lovely food but the attitude and atmosphere made us feel like they didn't want any custome which is a shame.

Beautiful cafe with lovely views of the Cathedral and the Green one side and the Moat and Palace the other. Great coffee scrumtious cakes and excellent good value lunches. My favourites are the chowder (fish soup) and the quiches.
