West End Fish Bar in Mendip

Good size portions, cheerful and helpful staff; great value and worth a visit.....

Very very disappointing meal from here on 10th june. My partner asked for a 1/4lb burger no cheese. Opened carton burger was luke warm black like it had been cremated and "firm" you could snap it like a biscuit. Great that thete was no cheese but there was no salad/sauce etc. Curry sauce was like water. Very poor disappointing food on this occasion. Sadly i didnt take a photo b4 i binned it! Also the dog wouldnt eat it so it must have been bad.

Excellent Chips, bright clean establishment friendly staff

I have used this establishment for 50 years but tonight was my last night their prices are now ridiculously expensive and no better in quality than the other chippies in merriman Park and next to the Co op Their reason for the price rise was inflation my reason is called a rip of

Wow what a wonderful fish and chip shop, very friendly so lovely and clean, very friendly staff as well. I ordered a large cod and chips and this was cooked fresh.The fish was massive and the batter was outstanding. Never had such a great fish and chips ever, plus very good price.Would recommend this wonderful place to everyone .

Really clean, covid secure fish bar. Lovely fish and chips. Marked them a 4 because they didn't put any salt and vinegar on when I specifically asked for lots.

Best fish and chips in the area. All ingredients are thoughtfully and sympathetically cooked. Oil is always clean, giving a lovely light golden brown fry and the batter is thin, lightly crispy and perfect, leaving the fish beneath beautifully succulent. Don't bother going anywhere else. This is definitely the Rolls Royce of fish and chip suppers !

Just bought fish and chips with curry sauce and a child's portion, great value for money. The food was delicious, fresh and filling. The staff were friendly, bubbly and thorough.

Just got fish and chips fish was dry and chips was cold no one answers phone to complain tuesday night never again ......here we go again tried again but Thursday night 17th June 2 girl staff very rude chips cold had to microwave them only live round the corner and chip shop last night just up road was hot so must be this shop always cold go somewhere else is my recommendation minus 5 stars Shame used to be good.....
