Wookey Hole Inn in Mendip

What a pleasant surprise. Lovely large spacious pub, with very helpful and friendly staff. There are even rooms to stay overnight if you so desire, (pre-booked). However the meals were wonderful, tasty and of quality, all at a great price. Highly recommended. It has it's own parking location, and is very close to the Wookey Hole attractions.

We didn't stay here but we popped in as a last resort to see if they could squeeze a family of 4 for dinner without booking. They managed to do so and with only a 30 mins wait as promised. Food was good and service was excellent.

Turned up at the end of their lunch slot today, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating! Food was lovely and the service was top notch! Thank you so much :)

Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and top class service. Accompanied all of our needs at such ease, really appreciated.P.s love the crayon touch, little one was over the moon :)

This review comes with a huge thanks to Richard the landlord. he really saved our bacon when the wookey hole hotel gave our dog friendly rooms to people without dogs after booking in advance. we were waved goodbye with a shrug of the shoulders no refund, and couldn't care less attitude without accommodation. a quick google and no more than 200m away was the wookey hole inn. I called and explained our predicament to Richard and that we were In need of 3 dog friendly rooms. He advised to pop in and have a face to face chat and come to an agreement. Long story short we were met with a friendly reception 3 fantastic rooms and food utterly out of this world for the money!! If you are visiting the local attractions enquire here first before the obvious wookey hole hotel. you will receive a much better, more personal experience. I'm from Shropshire and travelling for work so quite far from home. I will be travelling here on a leisure trip with my girlfriend especially to eat this food again and to experience the fantastic hospitality once more. many many thanks again to Richard and team. Lovely, charming country pub. Superb Sunday lunch as usual. Never fails to please. The chef was very flexible over the vegetarian options. Everyone very happy.

Amazing pub & restaurant. We went last night for a 40th & the food & service was fantastic! Shout out to the amazing Debbie & the chef. Amazing atmosphere, cosy surroundings & a true authentic Somerset experience! We will be back!

We went for a family meal, 8 of us late December an we felt welcomed by the staff especially the lady an the food was outstanding. Would highly recommend this place for both food and drinks.

Over rated expensive food. It tries but fails. lovely barman. We had a better meal the following night in Wells for half the price. Update I did tell the waitress at the time but she didn't seem interested.

After visiting the nearby caves we wanted to get dinner locally as we are big foodies! This place hit the mark, it was within walking distance, they took reservations, clean and airy, the dust were very warm and welcoming. The food was AMAZING, the presentationwas on point!!! I had the best banners and mash I've ever had! There was a good selection of kids meals. A total win! We left happy and satisfied.
