Small vegetarian choice, chips were great!

Just moved in to village. Thought I would try the local chippy for fish and chips. Chips nicely cooked as was the fish but really small portion for the money. Might of been an off day so will try again.

Very clean, efficient friendly staff, great menu. My place for takeaway.

Ordered food by telephone. They denied all knowledge we had rung twice. No apology made. Not the first time we have been let down. Or found the shop unexpectedly closed. Or food items missing from order. But double parking in Bampton is normal and no problem. Food not bad when we get it.

Clean and presentable. Polite but not very talkative. Quality of product has been declining over recent weeks.

As a fellow worker at bampton fish bar, there is a great communication skills between the workers and the customers. Yes we get busy but we are always on top of it all. I am glad to be working there.

Always great fish and chips, never greasy.. quick friendly service too. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Portions are definitely not small as some reviews suggest but then I suppose it depends on your appetite! It is cash only but then so are a lot of local chippies, handy for us that we can phone order in and collect on way through

Very disappointed. Had been told that this was one of the best Fish and Chips for miles around.Each order was cooked individually, no forethought to cook multiple orders so service was really really really slow despite only have 3 customers in the shop.Felt very unsafe handling cash that other people have been touching and no card payment options which in lockdown should be offered.No hand washing between handling cash and then wrapping up food. Yuk!Food was greasy, over cooked and frankly poor at best. Waited years to go here and won't bother ever again. Definitely would not recommend.

Unfortunately I was unable to find parking in Bampton this evening. If you want fish & chips, take a passenger who can go get them as you’ll have to double park or be prepared to go around the block a few times. Local people didn’t even want me to park temporarily outside their homes - coming to make angry faces at their windows ☹️Update - in response to the owners, I did try both other car parks and both were full. I agree that the lack of parking doesn’t reflect the quality of the fish and chip shop, but I wish I’d known that getting fish and chips in Bampton is a 2-person job. 1 to get the food, 1 to keep the car moving 😕

I'll start off by saying that these are the best fish and chips that we have had in ages.The chips are light and fluffy (and you get plenty!) and the fish was crisp and flavoursome. All sales are cash only, but this seems to be down to poor phone reception rather than anything else. There are two free cash machines in close proximity.The problem here is the attitude of the staff.We had a simple order of 1 x Fish and Chips and 1 x Pasty and Chips, but on getting back to Exebridge, we found that the pasty was missing.Now mistakes happen, so I called the shop to complain.The female answering insisted on knowing my name, despite me not giving it to them at the time, so I have no idea why that was important.She passed me to the man who prepared our order, and who was insistent that the pasty was included'Have you checked all the wrappers?? Have you thrown it away by mistake??''Yes' I said 'We have checked everything, and its not here. We have 2 x Chips, and 1 x Fish''Well, I know its there! I put it there myself!!', said the young clairvoyant.By now, I was pretty brassed off. I was basically being called a liar, and told him so.He backed off, and said he would prepare another, and I set off again.On arrival, a recently microwaved pasty was shoved across the counter. No apology, nothing.In summary, good food but don't expect a smile and count everything before you leave.
