Great place. Been here a couple of times when visiting our parents in Devon, from Kent. Fab food, and we are foodies!

A superb Sunday lunch on Mothering Sunday. Yummy food, lovely staff (they kept smiling and being wonderful even though they were really busy). Highly recommend it.

A lovely cosy pub. I've been here many times and I love this quirky country pub. The setting in winter is warm and cosy with the log fires burning, and in the summer there's a great little courtyard to the rear, which on a summers day feels like you could be in the Mediterranean, with the tiled roofing, stone buildings and pot plants (or perhaps that was the beer). Either way it's a great little setting. The kitchen here is small, but they have an excellent menu to choose from (and since they've had the chargrill) the food is always very tasty and something a little different. Throughly recommend.

Friendly - and great country cookingA complete and hearty Sunday lunch was had by my wife and IThe roast chicken was just as lovely as the roast beef meal - served with a smile and all the trimmings including Chestnut and best Roast potato ever tasted outside my house- it’s all to do with knowing what’s GOOD about having a basic menu that delivers wellThe 5 Stars are well deserved

Proper country pub atmosphere, lovely log-burner which kept us all toasty, coupled with super delicious food and beer. Really friendly staff and accommodating kitchen. We met my Mum and Step Father for Christmas Eve meal, between the 6 of us we tried most of the menu and we're really impressed with the offerings, stand outs were venison, trout and beef stew, plus flexibility to serve some of the mains as kids portion, which they really enjoyed too. Make sure you book in advance with larger groups. Word of caution on the parking front, it's limited so be prepared to enjoy and walk though some scenic village streets.

Lovely old inn in the heart of the village. Excellent food, beer and wine. Our room was very nice ... comfy bed...top quality bed linen and towels. Staff couldn't have been nicer... only stayed the one night.. wish we could have stayed longer. Hope to go back soon.

We came for some dinner with our children whilst on holiday nearby, and were not disappointed. The food is the best pub food we have ever had. Such cosy, chilled vibes in here. We were made to feel so comfortable and relaxed. The staff were excellent and so friendly.Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a cosy village pub with amazing food and fantastic, friendly customer service!

Had a gorgeous meal here, the meat feast platter for 2, including stater is fantastic, well worth it (there's a veggie option too), lots of local beers and ciders. It's advisable to book in advance but the staff are great, very helpful and managed to find us a table on the night. The bedrooms look lovely on the website so hoping to stay here on the next visit.

Great choice of Gins. Huge portions all cooked to perfection. The salmon, chicken & steak were all exceptional. Lovely homely pub in a beautiful little village x

We had a one night stay with dinner and continental breakfast. Our dinner was outstanding - really memorable. We had the steak and the half chicken. The chicken was beautifully flavoured and moist. Both came with a delicious green salad and beans/broccoli with a really lovely dressing. Perfect, simple but excellently done food at a great price. Just what we hope to find in a pub but hardly ever do. Our room above the bar was very comfortable. The staff were delightful, friendly and accommodating, changing our table for us so we could sit in the main bar. Thank you very much.
