The Barge in Mid Devon

Best coffee I've had in years, so balanced and nothing is burnt, latte art is great and foam is silky and smooth. Food is also very nice and the staff are lovely, been here a few times now and have never been disappointed. Very whimsical, a good place to come for a cream tea.

Tidy wee coffee/tea shop in a lovely setting. Reasonable prices and good quality cakes and pastries. Worth a visit for a refresh before hitting the beech.

We are here whilst visiting Bude for the day. The team were friendly and efficient. The food was really good quality and good portion sizes. They also had some lovely looking cakes. We didn’t try these as we ate a main meal however would definitely be going back again soon to try the cake.

Another little serendipitous find. Inside has been modernised and really quite pleasant.The water in tins saving plasticThe menu is quite Joe's cafe but it's done well. Salad garnish was fresh and looked fabulous. Fish and chips quite delicious.Staff masked up and all the hoax rubbish but not enforced on us.

What a lovely place with friendly welcoming staff . Food was really tasty and a wonderful start to our weekend.

Lovely coffee and cake on the Barge. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.The homemade cakes were great!Dog friendly and we’re greeted with some biscuits.Food looked nice but did not get a chance to eat, would return for food.

Always like the barge, had some lovely teacakes recently made the Cornish style with saffron. Along with this came just about the best pot of tea I've had. If you are Bude hunt out the barge

Lovely little place where you are made to feel welcomed. We decided to grab some breakfast there this morning before going out to do the circular canal and coastal walk around Bude. Both of us had a full breakfast, perfectly grilled bacon and tomatoes and not a spot of grease anywhere on the plate when we had finished!After doing the walk, we had planned on eating at another food venue on the canal, but seeing that they had a 45 minute wait for food, we decided to try The Barge again....straight in, and even got the same table we had at breakfast! Super fast food delivery, incredibly friendly staff, and delicious food all around. I would highly recommend The Barge to anyone spending any time in Bude, either for a holiday or if you are passing through.

Delicious crab salad on a beautiful barge, on a pretty canal, served by lovely staff. What more do you need? 😀
