Billy Budds in North Devon

Food was good, friendly staff. Nice location. We didn't like the smoky Devonshire pulled pork nachos, but the burgers were awesome.

Atmosphere was nice but let down by poor food and service. The cod burgers were burnt and the loaded fries were very dry. The serving staff got our order wrong twice which was frustrating, but they did try their best to resolve the issues we were having after making this mistake.Overall it was fine, but an average experience and we won’t be returning if in the area.

Remarkably good burgers. Very busy and had to queue for 20 minutes, with no explanation on the length of the wait.We were seated in the Marquee which had been erected in the car park, they were still operating entirely outside.Our food came promptly (but not too quickly) and was decent. I would go back.

All the tables are outside due to COVID but the weather has been amazing so that's just fine. There is a large tent like covered area but we got a table in the uncovered area after about 15 minutes despite being told it would be around 40 minutes - so again happy with that. We had plenty of time to decide what we wanted whilst waiting so ordered from the lady who showed us to our table. Drinks turned up within a couple of minutes and food turned up within 10 minutes. Menu is burgers, pizza and nachos - good old pub grub. I had vegetarian pizza and my wife had chicken stack burger. It was very nice and we will go back again if the weather stays good.We went back a few days later with others so we had a party of 5 and sis it all again. I had the large beef nachos this time which really is very large. The chicken stack is definitely the favourite within our group. Like last time we didn't wait long. The person who showed us didn't take our order and we waited for someone else to come and do that. Like last time we didn't wait long and the whole experience was very good. The food, although just the pub favourites, was very good and we left very full and very happy.

Great family friendly pub. Currently carrying out well spaced social distancing rules. Delicious food and good customer service. I'm not a vegan but I really do recommend the vegan nachos, they were absolutely amazing and so very tasty!!

Fantastic food that (once we had managed to get an order in) arrived promptly. Had a pizza and nachos. Well baked pizza and no sogginess in the nachos! Let down by the terrible table service.Took ages for someone to come and take our order despite seeing many servers clearing tables. Other customers who had arrived after us were served first.

Under the current restrictions I think this bar is really doing a great job. The gardens are large and well spaced between tables. The staff were all excellent, they very friendly, helpful and always available. The service was excellent considering the circumstances. I would highly recommended Billy Budds.

The food was fantastic, the staff were very helpfull. The only issue we had was carrying 2 prams through the venue as there are a lot of steps. Overall it was really good

Loved it! Its been a few years too long since i was last here on a regular badis but it's still (for me) an iconic place to go to. Best visited while still salty from a few hours in the surf - alas not this time 😎 But even out of season still good local beers and independent staff.
