Boston Tea Party Barnstaple in North Devon

What a fantastic visit. After driving over 300 miles to surprise our daughter for her birthday we descended on BTP in Barnstaple, 4 adults, 2 Leonbergers and a Macedonian rescue dog, and what a fantastic welcome we received. Lots of attention and fuss for the dogs, treats and bowls of water. The human food, coffees etc were amazing too. We couldn't resist we visited the next day slightly wetter due to the weather but still received the same fantastic level of service and attention from the very friendly staff. Would highly recommend everyone visits whilst in Barnstaple.

The food was good but the staff forgot to inform us of a wait of 45mins. We were very disappointed as we were sat outside in the cold for some time before a table became available inside. It was only then that we were told about the wait. If sat outside and ordering from the table, I would advise checking on wait the first.

Had brunch here with some friends on the morning of storm eunice. Possibly the best cup of coffee I have ever had, and I drink a lot of coffee.Friendly staff, good quality produce, breakfast was tasty. Wasn't overly keen on the bacon, but the rest was really good.Would definitely have a cup of coffee and eat here again and if was in the area

Absolutely fantastic food and drink. We went for breakfasts and it was so gorgeous!! The service was so good and the staff were super lovely and welcoming! Highly recommend to anyone wanted to go!

Best Mackerel I’ve had in years! Non of the eateries in London can match the quality and taste of this dish. Well prepared and the poached egg was perfect. Lovely atmosphere and lovely staff.

Breakfast cooked by someone who cares about there food! Perfect scrambled eggs, the hash browns and corn fritter were cooked spot on and nothing was oily/greasy. Best breakfast I've had in years. Great experience had by all 4 people in our party, lovely friendly staff and amazing food and drink. Thank you 5*

This cafe was so good. They had so many options for breakfast foods including vegan options. The customer service was great; they were all very friendly. The food was delivered very quickly and everything was so delicious.

Lovely place! Dog friendly (and German shepherd friendly too which is rare!) and lovely tasty food. Great menu range catering for different diets (particularly vegan/vegetarian). Only downside is I wish I had more room leftover for cake at the end as the ones brought out to other tables looked delicious! Also I must say upon arrival I was a little worried it was a bit too up class for me, but despite the fact the surrounding tables were filled with seemingly very posh people (just from overhearing little snippets of their conversations) the staff still made me feel very much at ease and comfortable and I didn't feel out of place at all which was nice!

LOVE visiting Boston Tea Party! Always great service and THE BEST food! Not even to mention the fact that they do everything in their power to be 100% environmentally friendly. They also only use local suppliers! Healthy food tasting SUPER good!

Let’s but the not so good bits first, this is not the cleanest of places... the tables are cleared and wiped but by the design of the tables - wooden tops set in metal frames that leave a gap of next to nothing to about 3mm between the wood and the frame - the gaps just build up detritus (old food etc 🤢) that just gets older!And another of my pet hates the floors do not get swept until the end of the day and by mid afternoon it’s not good! Come on it’s only the use of a dust pan on a stick and a brush!Now the plus points:Coffee good, tea good, brownie very good, snacks and the food I saw looked good.Service good and some even very cheerful and 😊.Random point - I remember sitting on these tubular metal chairs in the 60’s !
