Never been before and visited on the off-chance that we could get a table at Sunday lunchtime. It was busy and bustling. The staff were friendly and helpful and found us (and the dog) a room up in The Den. We ordered a Roast beef dinner and two Moules Frites. We were absolutely amazed when the food arrived! Huge mounds of moules, lovely hot fries and a part baguette for dunking in the delicious sauce. The roast beef was plentiful and served with a plateful of roasties, potato croquettes, Yorkshire pudding, baked onion and stuffing. Sides of carrots, broccoli, peas, cauliflower cheese, red cabbage, swede mash and an individual jug of extra gravy. Delicious food and outstanding value for money. No wonder it seemed so popular with the locals. A little gem of a place with lovely staff.

Great local pub serving excellent seasonal food. Limited vegetarian options but willing to accommodate different preferences. Authentic thatched, characterful bar and restaurant. Outside seating in booths out the back or at tables under cover to the front with views across the village and taw. Dog friendly and disabled access with careful assistance around the rear of the pub.Noted for its Sunday roasts at lunchtime.

What a wonderful find the food is most excellent. I had the beef and ale pie with mash and peas. My wife had the over pate with toast and small salad. My pie was a proper pie and the filling was exceptional. The liver pate was gorgeous and my wife loved the salad too ( which normally she would not touch). All in all awesome. Thank you.

Lovely, interesting old pub, serving decent beer and excellent food. Sunday lunch was terrific. Make sure you leave space for the massive deserts! Service very pleasant and efficient too.

7 adults and 1 child. Just had a meal and I would highly recommend. Easy parking. The bar staff were fantastic. The waitress was lovely. The food was delicious. The pub was quirky with friend locals and an oddly sloping floor. Looking forward to going back again soon.

If they could transport themselves to Braunton, I'd give them 6 stars. As it is, I will have to drive and not drink. Great Sunday lunches - not your run of the mill soggy old pub fare - this is restaurant quality. Lovely village pub with great atmosphere... and worth the drive!
