Claytons Glasshouse in North Devon

The food was absolutely delicious, staff were kind and just in general an amazing experience.

We visited the Glasshouse on a Tuesday night, relitavly early. We were warmly welcomed and shown to out table after our coats were taken. Our orders were quickly delivered and we weren't disappointed. I had the venison which was beautifully cooked followed by a stunning cheese cake. I would happily visit again.

The food was okay. The atmosphere good for a Monday. The staff were okay, not trained well, and lack of eye contact, lack of smiling. Price was reasonable. Unfortunately the whole thing was ruined by the very dirty stained seats. I mean really bad not just one or two. We were in raised section near bar with upholstered seats. The elderly people we were with would have not seen. I also requested a seat for four away from music and quiet as the group needed to talk. They didn't even look at the comments in the on line booking, I had to choose with what was left, nothing reserved. Good choice considering what else was available.

Took friends here for a meal. We ate downstairs where the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The drinks menu needs updating as the ales were changed. However the replacement drinks were really good. The food was delicious and the waiting staff were attentive. I would have awarded 5 stars for this but the material chairs were really grubby. A small thing maybe but the first thing we noticed when shown to our table. We will definitely go again as I say the food was excellent.

We popped in here for a quick bite to eat whilst on holiday in the area.. probably the best food we ate all holiday. staff so good and food was great, my boy had the muscles in white wine sauce, great portion size and lovely sauce.. but still think the steak was the best but wife and daughters all think theirs was the best.. enough said visit this if you can get in

Best food I have ever had in the UK!! Made me want to move to that town just to be able to have the whole menu for the rest of my life. Don't hesitate just go there!!! Had the mussels and the venison - beautiful!!!!

Absolutely love this place. A friend and myself visited tonight for my birthday. Our waitress Eve was fantastic, helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious, I had lamb rump and my friend the chorizo and chicken linguine, both were really really nice and the cheesecake for dessert was really something special! I'm quite particular about cheesecake and this did not disappoint! The cocktails were absolutely superb! I'll definitely be back soon!Thankyou for a really lovely evening :-)

Fantastic place for both food and drink. Previously had the one of the fish meals here prior to covid and it was exceptional. Today I had cocktails and once again fantastic cocktails the staff here ate super friendly and very helpful. This is another place I highly recommend going. I also recommend the long island ice tea if you like that sort of thing 👊

This restaurant is excellent. The staff attentive and the food superb. We visited a few "high end" local restaurants and left disappointed. This is the only good place we found.I likely wont be visiting Barnstaple again but if I do, I will sure drop past this restaurant.

I was amazed I haven't reviewed Clayton's yet despite being here so many times before over the years, but today's visit was not the last! Delicious food, wife had salmon fishcakes followed by the venison while I had chicken liver parfait followed by their signature pork burger, which was a fusion of complementary flavours! Only took one pic of my starter as I was so sure I'd reviewed here before. Eat here! It's delicious and the staff are very professional, the interior is very pleasant and upmarket without being too much. And of course the food is well priced as well as being top notch!
