Went here for Sunday Lunch the staff are very friendly and will help if anything is wrong. The Sunday Lunch was superb really tasty and all the veg were freshly cooked. Not to badly priced. Well worth a visit

Visited for evening meal (party of 4, + dog). Made very welcome by staff, food was delicious and the service was great. The only thing that let's this place down is the dated decor, see through that and you'll have a nice meal.

We enjoyed our stay, very friendly staff, delicious food, and value for money,

My family and I have visited this pub while staying in the area several times over the years. Carvery is always good with a nut roast and veggie gravy available for vegans and vegetarians. Chef happy to point out what oil/sauce veg has been cooked in. Could use some investment in the presentation of the pub as it's quite dated, and more vegan options for non carvery days, but staff are friendly and food is good.

An old coaching house cum bed and breakfast. With a large restaurant doing a carvery style servings. Yum yum. Staff are great, and welcoming.A 2 night stay (at short notice) with breakfast and main meals included (and a few wet ones at the bar) came to around 220 quid. The rooms were ok ish... beds were fine. Linen was clean and ironed? & rooms were clean and brightly lit. There was WiFi, but we didnt use it on this occasion.Parking outside was ample and seemed quite secure. The location is just outside Woolacombe on the right hand side of the road (B3343) and is easily accessibe from both directions. The owner is a friendly man and will chat all day with you the guest. The staff are really helpful and "go the extra mile" to please. The carvery... was excellent. Cooked almost to perfection. The building is an old Coaching House, and is definitely showing its age. The outside of the building hides a beautifully maintained guest house and restaurant and bar area.Yes, it is in need of a spruce up, and bits of it look tired... but is hundreds of years old, wouldnt you need a "pick-me-up" if you are as old as this place.I will definitely be coming back here, on my next visit to Ilfracombe and Barnstaple area.if i could give this place 10/10 i would... maybe 9/10....

Popped in for a pint and food, very impressed. (Way better than The Old Mill if your staying local)Great choice of beer(Doombar and Atlantic to name some) and gin, food was excellent. A bit of a hidden gem. Thanks, we'll call again when next down this way 👍

I only stopped in here for a quick drink, so no opinion on accommodation or food. Please note that at the moment this bar opens at 16:00 although I assume that as they do Sunday lunch it would be open earlier? Has a strange, almost 'Village pub for village people', feel too it which doesn't matter to much, but the stares can be disconcerting on entry. The 2 staff members were friendly and helpful and I was impressed by the choice of quality lagers, including one of my favourites, Staropramen. The lager is kept in prime condition and only a pressing appointment elsewhere, made me leave some.Very dated décor but not scruffy and in a way kind of goes with the territory. Unfortunately I have no idea about the prices, but assume that 12+ locals know a bargain.Probably worth a second visit if I'm passing?Discovered that it's only a Monday when this bar opens at 16:00...so presumably it's 12:00 the rest of the week?

Good pub food. Value for money.Highly recommend the carvery. Needs a bigger car park at peak times.

We didn't stay here but used the pub for our evening meals and we were never disappointed. Great food all home cooked and plenty of it great value for the money. The Sunday lunch is delicious. We were staying in Woolacombe so we had plenty of choices of where to eat but we couldn't find any better. The staff were polite and friendly. The premises were clean and covid safe. It's a shame that the garden wasn't opened but fully understood that it was because of staff shortages. Even though the outside is a bit scruffy please don't be put off It's great value for money. The chef must work so hard. We will certainly eat there again when visiting the area.
