Our fifth time visiting this pub. Sadly it didn’t live up to the fond memories we had of previous visits.The staff were very off hand and cold. We had to ask for our starter to be returned to the kitchen as it wasn’t cooked properly. On its own this could have been a simple mistake but we were put off when the waitress stuck her finger in it to see if it really was cold.They’ve also had a refurb which has resulted in the interior losing its country pub charm and left it looking somewhat cold and uninviting.Hopefully they were just short staffed on this visit and they’ll find their groove again soon

Hard to book a table but really worth the wait. Food and service were excellent. Would recommend.

Sadly our experience was not representative of the many highly positive ones on here. Friendly staff but an irritation was that the menu is on a fixed chalk board attached to one wall which is fine if you are seated in that part of the restaurant but not so good if you're the other side. The solution is to take a photo on your mobile of the menu before sitting down!Food was tasty however the lamb was raw in the centre but obviously not discovered until the end so unable to raise it earlier.

You have to know this place to find it. Great selection on the menu, I had the Steak & Kidney Pie. It was a proper pie, none of this flakey pastry nonsense! Lovely friendly service and a friendly cat or two thrown in for good measure... Oh and how could I forget, the best, crunchy roast potatoes eveeeerrrrrrr.....😊

Very nice pub in quiet village. Nice local real ales. Pleasant staff. Nice patio to sit out on. Although I did not eat there, the food must be very good judging by the number of people dining. We worth a visit.
