Graylings in North Devon

Lived in fremington for a number of years and always enjoyed graylings. However fast forward 14 years….. Ordered online and still had to wait 15 mins after my collection time. I do not mind waiting at busy periods but I think 15 mins is a little to long when you have pre ordered. The staff I dealt with were polite however I could hear one or two that weren’t. Food was still hot after driving 10 mins although chips were undercooked, sausage over cooked in my opinion and I think it should be renamed cheesy chip as you only get enough cheese to cover one chip! Portion sizes are small compared to other places and a little expensive. Was quite disappointed it wasn’t as I remembered.

Got to rate one of the Best Fish and Chips in North Devon - can recommend. Well cooked and very Fresh.

Called in for cod and chips.Fish excellent and very well cooked. Best I've had in the area, by far.Likewise, chips.Polite staff.Will come again.

Very disappointed went online to view menu saw they had Sunday special 2 cod and chips for £12, as I was passing the Okehampton shop I thought I would order there only to find out the special is for online only, I guess it is different ingredients for online ordering? Therefore people without internet (like the elderly) are being penalized which in my opinion is unfair. The staff seemed veryUnsympathetic when I asked why the cost was different.

We have arrived home today at Chesterfield having had a lovely holiday in Devon. I called at Graylings in Fremington at 5 past 2 on wed 15 sept and they had just shut, They opened up for us and cooked lovely fish and chips, They went above and beyond any other chippy anywhere, And the meal was fabulous as well good on them.

Got there just after 5, told there was a 7-8 minute wait, thought that seemed strange as there was no other customers around so I stood outside weiting... for over 20 minutes. Massively disrespectful, you could get a decent meal (which this wasn't) prepared in that time.

I don't know who was cooking on the afternoon of 6th August but my cod was thin, dry and the batter looked burnt. I feel it had been in fryer twice. Usually the best fish and chips around but not today. Very disappointed. Maybe you've got a new employee who needs retraining?🤔

Best chips for miles ! The cod was fresh and fluffy and had a great crispy light batter. Easily the nicest within the local area.
