Dreadful smell of cooked food inside the lobby, just like an uncleaned kitchen. Coffee overrated and not good value. Staff pleasant though, management need to sort that smell!

Nice hotel with lovely breakfasts. Only downside was we were by the lift so heard that sometimes while we tying to sleep. But we were on nights so too knackered to say anything

Simply put this is a wonderful hotel situated right in the middle of Barnstaple. The hotel has a real class air about it and from the moment you walk through the doors you can be assured you'll receive good old fashioned quality service. All the staff are brilliant. Our standard room was lovely and offered great value B&B for what we paid. We also ate in the hotel's bistro, Bank 62, and what a treat that was. Fantastic meal and again wonderful service. Our starter took a little time to arrive. We never said a word about it but when we ordered our next drink we were told they were on the house because of the wait. The hotel bar is also a great place to relax and enjoy a great cocktail or two. As expected the breakfast was as good as everything else we had experienced in the hotel. All in all this is a fabulous hotel and we would absolutely recommend it.

Very clean hotel with attentive staff, room was very comfortable, food and service was first class.Parking is very tight in 2 small car parks but we managed to get in.My only issue was that our room was next to street lights and the curtains were too small to block out the light, apart from that I would stay again if in the area.

No parking available - requested a bath on our booking didn’t get. Very very noisy room. Again requested on booking that I would like a quiet room at the back of the hotel as travelling with a 6 year old. Next to a very noisy alley way & in busy loud corridors. Telephone didn’t work so couldn’t ring reception for any of these issues.

I took my best friend out to lunch at your hotel today. As a big fan of Brend hotels and having eaten many times at your's and loved it plus having spent Christmas at the Imperial and eaten there lots, I was convinced it would be good. I was so disappointed. We had the carvery ..the sausages lacked flavour and were greasy, the roast potatoes were soggy and greasy, the cauliflower was rock hard and I don't mind al dente but this was hard with a capital H. There was no cheese flavour ? The whole meal lacked seasoning and yet there was no salt and pepper on the table. Also no crackling with pork. It was a very average meal that I could have cooked far better at home. The restaurant ie at the front of the hotel, although a beautiful ceiling also felt very squished. A waste of £19 and embarrassing that I recommended you.

Lovely small hotel. Challenging parking situation but spaces. Ideal to walk into town. Lovely staff. Mother in law was situated in a very challenging room, stairs x2 to get there even with lift. Be careful to ensure easy access room if you have issues. But the room was fresh, clean. The hotel gave them a hamper on arrival with the coach company over Christmas. She said the food was good. Decorated wonderfully for the season.

We Stay at this hotel for the New Year, what a fantastic hotel, the staff and customers abided the covid rules and we felt very safe. The food was fantastic, rooms we large and clean, the entertainment over the three evening we stayed were fantastic, the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. The location was great everything was within walking distance, we will definitely be returning to this hotel.Thank you to all the staff for making our New Year very special

Staff polite and efficient. Rooms very clean and have all the luxuries expected of an upmarket hotel. A lot of thought must have gone into making it comfortable for their clientele. Food excellent. Able to step out the front door into the High St. for a bit of retail therapy. Enjoyed my stay very much.
